Place: Clubroom
Time: 17 00
Objective: First club meeting
'Well people, thank you for having registered and being willing to participate in the club activities of the new founded club, REVEAL THE HACKER.'
If you guys are still in the dark, this is Blaze talking and doing the regular introduction speech for the club and maybe also giving the students that enrolled to the club some sort of feeling that they're going to do something creative here. Not just sit down and 'tourner les pouces' as we say. Anyway, let's get back to his speech, who knows how long he took to prepare it. (I'm laughing at the image of his trembling while thinking that he needs to sound smart and cool to not let go of his image.)
'As it is quite obvious, but I shall state it anyway, our main goal is to find the true identity of the very well-known Bluespider. We have at our disposal for 3 hours a day, all the material in this room, including funds from the school each month to run the club. Anyone willing to add any of his or her personal gadgets is more than welcome. We would need all the resources we could find.'
From what I could see, there were around 15 students in the room. Some were keen to listen to listen to Blaze's words while others seemed more to be waiting for the actual work to start. I could recognise a bunch of them from my classes. They were really good IT students of their own and maybe wanted to prove themselves in their respective field by participating in the unveiling of the hacker. (There's little chance that they're able to do that if you ask me, not that I feel pretty confident and have a huge ego. No, not at all. Hope you all see what I mean.)
Blaze passed a piece of paper around for us to choose which tasks we are most likely to excel in. Since I wasn't sure what to choose, I did the smartest thing, I crossed out all the possible options. Data sorting, permanent lookout of illegal online activity and writing reports of the pattern in hacking seen (mostly the most boring task for the others but here I get to create innovative stories to trick them into looking somewhere else).
When all the formalities were over, Blaze closed all doors and did something I would call awkward. He showed us the data he got from hacking the school system when we had the barrier issue. Why awkward? That's simple, every single one of just could simply guess that he didn't get it from legal means and if he's found out, he'd be in real trouble.
Well on the contrary to what I thought, that seemed to have made him gain some more respect to the eyes of the younger students in the room, who haven't yet dared to something out of the norms till now. How does this boy even manage to do that!
That part of the discussion wasn't very interesting to me since I knew that the data was wrong and manipulated from every single corner. (It was a pretty fun chase if you ask me.) I do wonder if the students here would make it as fun for me to run away and look out for their moves or just let me lead them by the tip of their nose.
As the hour passed, I was getting more and more bored. Can't anyone break the boredom of the room? Come on people, you're not robots listening to a teacher right now. This is supposed to be club time and not class!
The clock was ticking and I was on the verge of falling asleep. It felt like the class of Mrs. Anetta, my German teacher, no matter how funny or entertaining she is with her sudden outbursts and weird face expressions, her class is as boring as it can ever be. A person can be asleep with eyes wide open!
Back to Blaze, his voice when speaking, his tantalising movements as he speaks. He looks so damn eatable right now.
Come on girl, shake out of it. It's just the boredom getting to you. Don't forget that the guy has a weird way of thinking and you're way smarter than him.
'I'm bored! Can't you just wrap up the presentation and let us get to work. These data look obviously falsified and represent no lead for us!' I suddenly shouted, surprising myself.
All 16 heads turned to me with the similar o-shaped expression. I wonder if we could make a symmetry out of faces, that would work perfectly for the current situation I think.
Oh oh...
