Nature Unnatural

-------------------------------------------------

Nature! You have lost your nature

Why sitting half-naked under the streetlight

Muttering in tear-soaked aspirated voice?

Isn't it Man who stripped off your green attire?

Alas! Wordsworth is now fast asleep

Under the grave in Westminster Abbey

The green ink long finished, the comforting hand long vanished...

Do not bemoan, look around and see

How man has replaced Nature with nature

Look at the concrete trees vying to scrape the sky,

And bats dangling upside down

Not on branches but on electric wires,

The artificial fountains and rooftop gardens,

And the bird sanctuary near the dustbin,

Return back Nature, look back no more

You are unwanted, you are an anathema here

Shed no tears poor soul, sigh not for eclogues

You will drown yourself in flood, not the city at all.
