"Zelda! They're here," Oh no, why is she doing this? I don't need help. I can handle this myself.
The white carpet stairs felt so soft on my bare feet, walking down holding onto the wooden polished rail heading towards Ms Kaarina, my foster mother.
"Hi Zelda, my name is August-Jade, but you can call me August. I've heard a lot about you," she smilies, what does she mean by "I've heard a lot about you"? How long has my mother been talking to her?
"Do you hate me like the rest of them..?"
"No, I'm here to help you get through this, together," does she really mean that? Maybe she can help me, if only I could trust her...
"It's not easy, I know, but you can trust me," did she just-
"Yes I did," How did she...wait never mind.
"When did you know?"
"Not important right now. I'm here to talk about you not myself."
"Mother, can we have some privacy please?"
"I'll be in the kitchen if you need me."

"You made brownies!"
"Would you like one Miss?"
"I would love one but it's getting late so I should get going and please, call me August. It was a pleasure meeting you Zelda," Personally, she seems too nice for my liking.
"Same for you," faking a smile to show my appreciation.
"Bye guys."
"See ya tomorrow," TOMORROW! what!?
As she closed the door behind her I looked at my mother.
"Mum are you crazy!"
"No, want a brownie," oh my god. I walked up to her stomping my feet on the white fluffy carpet knocking the baking tray with the cut up brownies on the ground.
"I'm serious. I don't need help! I don't need you to control my actions," damn, she looks like her pet dog just died, but i don't care. I'm upset she didn't come to me in the first place.
"I...I thought this is what you wanted..." I could see her glaring eyes tearing up as the first tear falls down her cheek and her arms fall to her side.
"I know you're trying to help but don't come into my life and ruin it even more!" I cried out.
"Zelda..."
"No mum, no more pathetic "sorrys" I don't want to hear it," I was being honest, I really didn't.
"I wish it was you who died in the car crash," she deserved everything.
"Don't you dare speak to me like that again, your dad wanted all the best for you."
"You hated him! You wouldn't let me go to his funeral, he was the only family I had, and now that he's gone...nobody will love and care for me like he did."
"That's not-"
"Goodbye mother," I ran to the front door opening it before she could respond. Why did you leave me with her dad...why?
