I woke up to the sound of two extremely loud alarms. I tried looking for a pillow only to have my hand land on something warm and moving. I lifted my head up a bit to find Kohl's facing right back at me. Events of last night flashed through my head as my cheeks went red from the memories.
As I was thinking about those things I couldn't help but notice the peaceful look on his face. I could feel his soft, even breaths come through partially opened lips and his hair fell onto his face. I couldn't help myself as I brushed away the hairs that covered parts of his face I wanted to see. Doing so I had caused Kohl to wake up to the raging alarm clocks that I noticed were still screaming their protests.
I groaned as I flopped into a pillow hearing Kohl chuckle quietly. He got up wincing slightly to go turn off the alarm clocks. I was thanking myself internally when I saw he was wearing boxers instead of walking around nude. I probably would've died from hotness overload.
However, I tried so hard to divert my eyes away from the red lines that littered his back. As much as I took pride in them they made me feel all flustered. I decided to get up just to check my phone notifications.
When I got up and felt the sheets fall off I looked down to see if I was the only person without clothes on only to sigh quietly in relief when I saw I had a shirt on that covered my bottom. When I looked up I noticed Kohl had a giant smirk on his face as he looked me up and down. This only caused me to blush harder.
"W-what?" I asked softly. "Why are you staring at me like that?"
"You," Kohl breathed. "Look stunning in my shirt."
I looked down again at the shirt on me surprised to hear it was his shirt. Which meant my clothes were still on the ground. Dirty. I sighed again, but this time not out of relief. I needed clothes.
Kohl seemed to sense my distress because he handed me some feminine looking clothes that suited my normal style. I took them giving him a questioning look.
"They were my mothers from when she was younger." he explained. "They sort of suit your work style so I grabbed them."
"Thank you." I replied. "So I'm guessing Cherry got over her sickness."
"Yep. She's fit as a fiddle."
I giggled as Kohl walked out of the room to change himself. While he was out I gladly took this time to change myself into clothes that covered me and some other things more. I fussed with my hair a bit before sighing and tying it up in a messy bun.
I looked in the mirror to make sure I was presentable then marched out of Kohl's room to find something to eat. I was fortunately too late as Kohl was already making something for us to eat. I quite liked his cooking. It made me feel all warm inside. Sort of like a homely feeling.
"What's on todays menu, Chef Burns?" I cooed. "It smells quite delicious."
"Well, my dear," Kohl cooed back, "today we are having an exquisite meal that consists of a healthy fruit salad and pancakes."
"Sounds swell, Chef."
"Only for you, my dear."
Time seemed to fly by fast as I shoveled down my food and before I knew it I was already in Cherry's car going to work. This is when time decided to be a jerk. Curse its unpredictableness.
"My, my, Aidyn." Cherry trilled. "What are you doing over at Kohl's house, huh?"
"N-nothing." I stuttered out with red cheeks. "I was just visiting but it got to be too late to go back to my house so I just spent the night."
"That's not all that seemed to happen. Oh dear, where'd you get such a nasty bruise like that on your neck."
"Nasty bruise? Kohl!"
Kohl was dying in the passenger seat as I held my hand over my neck. I thought I had covered all of them when I changed into these clothes. Guess I missed a spot.
Cherry handed me her makeup bag while shaking her head with an amused smile on it. I gladly accepted it while glaring daggers at Kohl. Then, I got to work on the massive hickey. I'd get him for it later.
We arrived at work a few minutes before opening time. I decided to take this chance to see if I managed to cover the hickey up the best I could. I ran to the bathroom and looked in the mirror when I arrived. I was surprised when I saw that the bruise was practically nonexistant.
I did a small happy dance in the room before leaving with a confident smile on my face. Cherry was the first to notice my makeup skills.
"Wow, Aidyn!" she exclaimed. "It's like it wasn't even there. Kohl come look at this."
Kohl came over to check out my neck and I could see the disappointment in his eyes. I just scoffed turning my head away from him to avoid getting entranced with his eyes.
"Aw, I wanted everyone to see that she was mine." Kohl whined. "That took some work you know."
"Kohl!" I yelped feeling my cheeks burn again. "Not helping!"
Cherry laughed at us holding onto her stomach as Kohl continued to tease me. I huffed looking at the time then smiled.
"I guess I'll get going." I said walking to my station. "Can't keep the customers waiting now can we?"
"Ah, you're absolutely right." Cherry chirped. "Kohl hurry up and get to work."
"Ok, ok." Kohl said walking the opposite way before giving me a wink.
I giggled then turned just as the first customer came up with a book in her hand. She handed it to me to which I cashed it out for her with a bright smile on my face. I waved goodbye as she left and turned to see Kohl putting on a show for the coffee guests coming in
I had to smile to myself as I thought, This might not be such a bad day after all.
