CHAPTER THREE

I was somewhere else. I wasn’t in my body. I was in a place where there was no pain, no suffering and no cruelty. I hoped it was heaven. I hoped I was not living on this planet anymore. I had been through enough. But there comes this rope and it drags me back. It drags me back into the reality of my so called life. A life that should be filled with joy and romance, but who’s life is normal?

I dreamt of days where I could just take off. Be someone else for a change and stop living and to just forget. Play a character, like an actor would and just not be myself. In all honesty…I didn’t want to be me. I didn’t want to leave her, but that hardest part was…she left me.

I woke up in and unfamiliar place. The room was bare, only containing the bed that I was sleeping on and a little wooden bedside table next to the bed with a little lamp on it. I was tightly tucked under the duvet; I can only guess that this was Sam’s house. I had never been in this room before.

I let my eyes adjust to the light pouring through the window a meter away from my bed. Then I realised I could actually open my eyes, I quickly raised my hands to my face and felt that my skin was smooth and un-marked. I slid out of bed, me feet landing on wooden floor, moving my hand from my eyes to my cheek and felt no cut from the belt. I lowered my hands to my ribs and pushed in not feeling any ounce of pain. What the hell I thought. How do I not have any marks? How long was I out?

I saw the bag that my mum packed for me and swiftly walked over to it and brought it back over to my bed. I opened the bag and found a lot of money, from what I see before me I would guess it was around 1000 dollars. I was so confused, how could she save up this much and leaving me clueless about this bag for years. I looked around and found another bag. This bag was much larger than the money bag mum packed. I walked over to this bag and brought it to my bed once again and opened it. Inside contained most of my clothes, I think all of my clothes were in here. I didn’t have many clothes to begin with. I quickly got out of the clothes that I was wearing and changed into some leggings and a grey sweater which was two times my size.

I opened the door from my room and went down the familiar stairs. I smelled something baking so I guess Emily was slaving away in the kitchen.

“Aria” Sam called walking through the big entrance of the house, coming over to embrace me in a hug. Tears started pouring as my body finally let me process what had happened. My father had killed my mother. I fell into his arms as my body started to give way,

“Sam” I cried into his neck and I felt him start to tear up too.

“Im so sorry” he spoke gripping me tighter. A surge of anger came over me and I started to shake. I was seething with revenge.

“Did you kill him?” I asked through gritted teeth, he looked down at me with concern

“He ran away” he said whispering the last part. I stepped back looking at him with disgust, before I knew it I was out the door. I was clouded with anger, I could hear Sam’s faint yells but it didn’t stop me. I was determined. He was going to pay for what he had done.

I was on a war path through the forest. I had no clue where I was but looking up at the sky I could see that I was going the right way through the sun. I stopped as I heard sticks snapping close to me. I looked around and saw no one so I kept going. *snap snap* There it is again. I started to walk faster gradually exceeding into a jog then the snapping started getting louder and closer. I was now running scared of what was out there when I suddenly stopped.

A pale figure was leaning against a tree to my near right flicking something of his fingers. He had a sly grin on his face. I knew it was a vampire. Mum had told me about these blood sucking demons. I wasn’t scared.

“Hello there” he spoke obviously putting on a soothing voice,

“What do you want?” I spoke getting angry that this demon was ruining my plans,

“Oh you know what I am, I see” he said, his smile getting larger. He looked like he was in his early twenties. He had short black hair and was very pale. His eyes were as red as blood and his frame was very thin,

“Yes, you want to know something else?” I said and he nodded in reply so I walked closer to him,

“My cousin and his pack are near bye,” I start as I look around and sense someone else was here, “It will take them two seconds two come here and rip your head off” I spat which made him angry but suddenly who looked behind me,

“Sorry sweetheart, I have to go” he said before blurring off in an unknown direction. I turned around and saw Sam standing there with his arms crossed.

“Do you know how stupid that was?!” he spoke, the Alpha in his voice showing, “You could have been killed!” he said emphasizing the word killed. I recapped what had happened and realised he was right. But I was too proud to say anything about it. I looked down and I heard him come closer. He put his huge hands on my shoulders and made me look up at him. He was massive, about two heads above me so I was basically looking up at the sky.

“Please Aria, I know your hurting but you have to let this go” he said quietly, the anger in his voice had disappeared. It was like my body couldn’t take it anymore. I fell to the forest floor and poured out. The memories from her death becoming burned into my sight. Sam lowered down to my level and tried his best to console me. It was no use. How can you console someone who just wants to die?

He picked me up and carried me back to his house. As we approached the humble little house, a bunch of guys were standing outside, five to be precise. They were all  extremely muscular like Sam and all had the same tattoo on the arm. I knew straight away that this was Sam’s pack. I had never met his pack before. He hissed at them to leave and they all did except for one. He was staring at me and I couldn’t help but not look away. This boy was like no one else. He was the biggest one in the small group that gathered in front of Sam’s house. He was tanned and had the most gorgeous brown eyes and a face that just drew you in. Sam gasped and his mouth fell open.

“Oh my god” Sam’s deep voice had spoken.
