I was sitting on the couch, sighing, hating that Dole was already ten minutes late. He usually wasn’t this late before, and I started to think of the worst. What if Kayden had found him and killed him? What if the police had caught him? My head snapped towards the door when there was a knock on it. I crept my way over to it and looked out the peephole. Dole stood in front of the door, his face whitened and he was swaying slowly side to side.

When I opened the door to let him in, he stopped swaying and put a fake smile on his face. Something was wrong and I knew he was lying about it. I gestured him inside, waiting to see if he was going to tell me what was wrong.

“You were ten minutes late.” I stated, frowning.

“Yeah I know, I’m sorry. I got lost track of time.” He said, sitting down on the couch. He folded his hands on his lap and awkwardly sat in silence.

“So everything is alright then?” I asked, eyeing him suspiciously.

“Yeah, everything’s fine.” He lied and it didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure that one out.

“Alright, anyways, the plan I have, could be complicated.” I said, pausing to make sure Dole was paying attention because I didn’t want to repeat myself.

“I want you to go to the Bahamas and see Kayden. He will obviously be on edge and I want him to be that way. I want you to pretend you hate me and want to see revenge against me. He will probably have you prove that you are on his side someway and you will. I will also follow you to the Bahamas and you will report everything about Kayden to me. I want to know everything about him, especially what he has been up to the last few weeks since he murdered Kelly.” I said, snarling the last part about him murdering Kelly.

“Okay and if he doesn’t accept me?” He asked.

“Well you’re going to make him accept you. Do whatever you can to make sure he trusts you. In order for me to know everything and everyone associating with Kayden, I need someone on the inside. Just think of this as an uncover gig and you’re still a police officer.” I said smiling.

“Kyle, I was a detective, not an undercover officer.” Dole said laughing.

“Who cares, you got a promotion then.” I chuckled.

“Would that really be a good promotion?” Dole asked, smirking.

I shook my head, laughing, and for the first time in the last few weeks, I had someone to talk to and to laugh with. It felt good not being alone but being who I am, it usually resulted in being alone; I was a criminal in hiding.

For the next hour, I showed Dole where he was going to stay and gave him all the ways to contact me and extra hiding places. We talked about everything he could and couldn’t do and what was to be told to me. I told him some things about Kayden that would be useful and everything that would help Dole play this part. All I prayed was that he didn’t screw this up, for both of our sakes.

“We are going to wait a few more weeks just to give everything time. Kayden has only been in hiding in the Bahamas for two weeks tops and is more on edge than ever before. He will most likely take you in more if we wait a little longer.” I said, taking a bite of my sandwich that I had made.

“Alright, and do you know if he has any partners or girlfriends that I should be aware of because I don’t like surprises.” Dole said.

“I’m not sure about a girlfriend or lover, that’s your job to figure out for me because that can be very useful. And having a partner, I don’t think he does. He was usually a solo kind of person.” I said.

“Are you thinking of hurting someone he loves?” Dole asked, causing me to grin.

“It seems only fair, he hurt someone I loved, so I hurt someone he loves, I just don’t know who that is. That is a major thing I need you to figure out.” I said, sternly. If would be amazing to find Kayden’s weak point and to take away the love of his life, just like he did mine.

Revenge was the best but could also be the worst thing a person does. I was planning on making this the best thing I ever did. A smirk appeared on my face as I thought about getting revenge on Kayden. I had to be patient though; all good things come to those who wait.

“Okay well I’m going to head home, I have some other things I have to do, but I’ll keep in contact.” Dole said standing up and heading for the door.

I nodded and watched as he left, leaving me alone, once again. I grabbed my laptop from the side table next to me and turned it on. Once I was online, I pulled up a tracking device program that I had installed to my computer. I used the excuse that I was a cop and the program was free. Oh the perks of having an old police badge and a few pieces of paper to verify.

In order for the program to work, I had to put the tracker on whatever I wanted to track and right now, I was looking at exactly where Catherine and Jim Hunter were. I had found out so much about them while researching. Catherine wanted to keep her last name for some reason when she married Jim, so he decided to take her last name. Jim was ex military, and Catherine worked as a travel agent. Neither of them were close to the Hunter family and had lived in Ireland until they moved to Colorado when they found out Matt and his wife, Amy, were dead.

I basically knew everything about them and I know their exact location which was in Ireland. The reason I was tracking them is because I have a specially plan for them and it wasn’t going to be pretty. In the next few weeks, I was going to make the people who had hurt Kelly or given up on her, pay, starting with her aunt and uncle.

Then Dole would go undercover and everything would start to plan out and go the way he wanted too. Maybe alone the way, I would find something to entertain myself. I knew there was one thing that always kept my mind off of Kelly and the guilt and sorrow I was feeling. Killing.
