Ella adjusted her body so that she can stare out the car window. She awed silently as many beautiful buildings whizzed past them. Uptown was truly a beautiful place to be. It made you wish for what you know you can't have even if you tried really hard to get it.

The evening sun bounced off some glassy building adding more beautiful scene to it. It such a pity that some people had to live uptown and some people downtown. It would have been really lovely if everyone was equal, bit then things would be chaotic.

Their visit to Fair child hospital had been a very long one. Dr Greene was excited to see her and William after so many years. Ella was even surprised that the man even remembered her at all,let alone missed her face. William made sure Dr. Greene checked her whole body and was satisfied when he was told that nothing Major happened to her. He even went as far as getting the prescribed medicine for her from the pharmacy in the hospital.

But ever since they stepped foot in his range over 2016 car,he began to work on his laptop. Ella felt bad because he left work really early because of her.

She stole a quick glance at him and almost smiled at the sight of him bent over his laptop typing furiously. The dim light in the car provided enough light for her to study him. Again.

He looked so good in his suit. Ella didn't have a thing much for guys who wore suit,in fact she hated men who wore suit. People who wore suit always feel too pompous and intimidating, which annoyed her to no end.

But looking at William now,she didn't even mind the suit he was wearing. And one couldn't blame her,not when he was looking so yummy and hot in suit. His hair had long lost the kempt and tidy look he was sporting this morning. Right now,it looked messy and untamed and it did funny things to her insides.

Sighing, she averted her gaze and turned back to stare out of the window. She didn't like where her thoughts were heading to. William would soon be her boss and having any kind of feelings for him would be really stupid, considering the fact that he was also in love with her best friend.

It would be really awkward.

Feeling suddenly exhausted, she leaned back against the car seat, closed her eyes and let out a very deep sigh.

"Are you okay?"

Her eyes popped open. She turned her head slightly and her eyes came into contact with his. He had concern plastered all over his face, which slightly annoyed her. She hated pity and even if she needed it, William's would be the last one she accepted.

Ella shrugged nonchalantly. "Fine,I guess."

She kept a blank look on her face as his eyes searched hers for any indication that she was lying. She watch him nod, obviously satisfied with what he saw.

"We need to talk about your employment."

Ella sat up and positioned her body so that she was directly facing him. "I'm all ears."

"Good." He closed his laptop. "My house is located in Kensington estate, you know there right?

"No."

He nodded. "It won't be easy for you to come in every morning at six, would it?"

Ella chewed on her button lip, thoughtfully. "It all depends on how far your estate is from downtown."

"It is really far. Which is why I came up with a solution." William scratched his jaw. "You'd be staying at the estate during the week, since you'll be working from Mondays to Fridays. Saturday and Sunday would be your days off,so you can go home if you like. Is that okay with you?"

What choice did she have?

"Yes."

"About the payment,I would pay you one hundred dollars weekly. You don't have to worry about food of course since you'll be the one doing the cooking."

"Me? Cook?"

He frowned at her. "Yes, or can't you cook?

"I can."

"It's settled then." He turned away from her.

Ella turned her head to stare out the window. They should be closer to her house now. She frowned when she saw that the beautiful buildings she had been admiring before seemed to increase. Shouldn't it be decreasing?

"Where are we?" She asked him without turning her head.

"Uptown,obviously." He replied.

"I know." She answered back. "But I am surprised to see more tall buildings. Shouldn't we be on the I-75 by now?"

"We are not heading downtown tonight." He answered in a cool voice. "We are going to my estate."

Her head whipped around so fast that it was a miracle she didn't get whiplashed. He was also staring at her. Whatever Ella wanted to say died on her tongue when her eyes connected to his.

Her body suddenly felt hot and cold at the same time. Her pulse quickened and her face became flushed.

She quickly looked away from him not wanting him to see what he did to her. Golly, she shouldn't be acting like this around him for crying out loud.

William was totally off limits. He was her boss,no feelings should be involved for Christ sake. He claimed to be in love with another, which meant she had no chance with him at all.

William was off limits.

<•••••>

William frowned at her back, wondering what was wrong with her. He didn't miss the look on her face before she turned away from him.

She was nervous.

Or so he thought. But what he surely knew is that she was not that comfortable in his presence. He wondered why. The Ella he remembered didn't struck him as the type who would be nervous. In fact, she was bold that day in the Cafe where he and Cassie had gone five years ago.

His gaze, of their own accord, strayed to her hair. She looked better with the black colour. Purple didn't really suit her that much, but black brought out her eyes. He started to compliment her about her hair but he never got to because his driver pulled up in front of his grand house.

Sighing quietly,he opened his car door and got out. He had barely walked three feet before he saw a slim feminine figure appear in front of the large double doors beaming at him in delight.

"Shit." He muttered under his breath.

William knew that he was in for a long haul and his own peace was at stake because, standing at the entrance looking as if she just saw Barrack Obama dressed in nothing but his birthday suit was none other than Ansela.

His devilish and mischievous sister.

"William." She waved at him but her gaze was on someone else.

William then remembered that Ella was there too. He stepped forward to introduce them but was cut off when Ansela ran towards them and threw her hands around Ella's neck.

"Ella,it's you!" She squealed like a demon from hell.

William blinked in surprise. "You two know each other?"

"Yes." Ansela released Ella and turned to him with a glint in her eyes. "We do. And right now,we have some catching up to do. Right?"

Ella nodded,obviously excited.

The two of them walked ahead of him into the house. As he followed them William began to think the reason as to why his sister was here. And he came up with two reasons.

One, she stopped to see him to ask about how he was doing.

Two,she came here for a specific reason.

And that reason,he didn't like at all.
