I had to get Jungkook to agree. It was my only opportunity to even have so much as a chance with Jimin, and I wouldn't let it slip so easily from my fingers. Not now.
I knew I had to work on Hoseok first. He'd be easiest. But something went wrong yesterday. Majorly. I wouldn't usually be able to picture Vada as the type to cry. Probably because she seems as emotionless as a robot on most days, and I've always had a sneaking suspicion she was part cyborg. But seeing a girl as scary and intimidating as her crying? Because of someone as sunshiney and bright as Hoseok, who wouldn't hurt a fly?
Things were clearly more different than I would've thought, especially with Jungkook in the picture.
I saw Hoseok in science class, and I sat next to him quickly, putting my hand on his shoulder. "We need to talk, Hoseok-ssi."
His brows jumped as he stared at me, "What about?"
"I didn't see everything that happened at that table after I was kicked out." I sucked in a breath, "But I need you to tell me what happened. Something clearly did."
Hoseok's face blushed pink, and his gaze flickered down to his hands. "O-Oh. Why do you need to know?"
"Hoseok-ssi, just trust me," I mutter, leaning in. "What happened?"
He shifts a bit, as though considering whether or not to tell me. "She told me she didn't want a relationship," Hoseok says at last, though in a quiet and hushed tone. "She... She said she didn't want feelings and that... that she'd rather 'fool around' with me rather than be my girlfriend."
I was surprised. She said that? What would Jungkook see in these two to make him think these two would be a 'perfect match'? I couldn't ponder over those questions, though, because what I needed was to get Hoseok right where Jungkook needed him. Where I needed him.
"What happened after?" I asked him, pushing on.
"I told her either she could have all of me, or none of me," Hoseok sighed. "I got up and left her after that."
I hissed, through my teeth, clenching my jaw. This was going to be harder than I thought. "Look, Hoseok-ah. I... I don't think she actually meant that," I mumble. "I think she really does like you, she's just scared to show it. I mean, she's known for being sort of cold and intimidating, and when people perceive you a certain way, it's hard to be anything else. I think... I think you should give her another chance."
Hoseok shook his head. "I'm sorry, but I'm done giving chances. I need to move on, it's clear she doesn't want a relationship, and I'm not going to push her into one."
But he and Vada were meant to be together- apparently.
I gritted my teeth. "Hoseok-ah, you know that ice cream parlor near the school? That a lot of kids go to after school?"
"Yeah, what about it?" Hoseok raised a brow. "Wait a minute... if you're planning to set me up with Vada there, you can forget it. I meant what I said."
I narrowed my eyes, "Hoseok-ah, you'll thank me later. But you're going there today, at 5."
"What? You're kidding," Hoseok shook his head. "I'm not going."
I slammed my hand on the table, giving him a dark look. I needed him to participate. It's the only way I could get this to work. "Jung Hoseok, I swear to fuck, if you don't sit your ass in that parlor at 5 PM, I'm going to rip our project apart in pieces, refuse to participate, and get us a zero. You don't want that, do you?"
His eyes were wide. "Are you blackmailing me?"
I quirked a brow, a dead serious look on my face. "Are you refusing?"
