"Oh dear God, Jungkook-ah, what did you do?" I say, bending over the man and placing my fingers against his neck. "Did you kill him?"
"No," Jungkook said. "I just gave him sleeping powder. It's supposed to put you to sleep once it comes to contact with your skin- for at least an hour. He wasn't supposed to inhale it- especially through the mouth."
"So what? Is he asleep?" I say.
"Well, essentially? Yeah," Jungkook mutters, glancing to the screen. "But let's just say it's going to be a very, very long nap."
"How long exactly, might I ask?" I hiss.
"Two days."
My eyes widen, and I look back to the body, feeling the soft pulse against the pads of my fingertips. "Fuck."
"No kidding."
"Well, what are we supposed to do? He's going to be asleep for two days! Someone's bound to find out he's missing if he doesn't come home," I mutter. "What do you suggest?"
"We'll have to text his family," Jungkook hums, his brows furrowed in concentration. He looked as though he was contemplating, running different ideas through his head. I found it funny how he kept his lips pursed and a little wrinkle between his brows. "I've got an idea... but you'll have to trust me."
"Trusting a stranger who just drugged an old man?" I shrug as though what I said was 'you want me to help with homework? Why not'. "Sure, whatever. I mean, what could possibly go wrong?"
I saw the corner of his mouth quirk up just the slightest bit. He smirked at me, then bit on his lip to stop from laughing. "Alright, well, you're going to have to keep him in your house."
"What? You're joking!"
"Look, I'll help you sneak him in, and he won't wake up in two days- or really need anything during that time," Jungkook sighs. He looks at me, looking me in the eye- which I found oddly difficult, for some strange reason. "I'll help, OK?"
I suck in a breath. "I guess I've got to do an assistant's duty, huh?"
He pats my shoulder, giving me a gummy grin. "That's a good girl."
I socked him in the arm, but not too hard to actually hurt him. "Shut it, Cupid."
"Don't call me Cupid," he shakes his head. I open my mouth to tease him more, but he quickly sits down, watching the cameras. "Shit! We just missed them, but they're in the room now."
"Turn up the volume so we can hear then!" I insist, leaning in to watch.
Jungkook turns up the volume, and we catch in on what they're saying.
"I'm asking why the hell you had it though!" Taehyung said frustratingly to Cathy.
She narrowed her eyes, crossing her arms. "Sugar toast and creamsicles! I told you I didn't steal them, I don't know why they were there. But I want to know why in squeaky dolphin you had my tarot cards."
"You mean these?" Taehyung whips out the cards. "You're really superstitious, aren't you?"
"And you, with your little lucky charm?" Cathy rolls her eyes, glaring at Taehyung. She takes the charm out, holding it between her fingers and dangling it in front of Taehyung's face. Her eyes are concentrated on either him or her cards, but she doesn't look happy. "You call me superstitious, but you're no better you hypothesis!"
"You mean hypocrite?" Taehyung said, flabbergasted. He made a swipe for the charm, but Cathy was too quick.
She quickly tossed it high in the air, watching as it made an arc over both of their heads. She caught it in the palm of her other hand quickly, wearing a smug grin in front of Taehyung. Cathy held out her hand, "First the cards, parakeet."
