~Life is a beautiful struggle~

Shifting came easily for me now that he asked for it. I put my wolf in the back of mind, but didn't completely block her out. Wouldn't want history to repeat itself. "Skylar Ducis. Daughter of David and Catherine Ducis, the previous Alphas of The Moon Rock Pack. The pack that was attacked and thought to be eliminated 17 years ago. You, mi amor, have a lot of explaining to do." As he spoke, he advanced toward to me until he was only inches away. "You seem to have an advantage. You know my name, but I don't know yours."

He smirked at me, seeming to have caught my diversion from his inquiry. "Dominic Hicks, Alpha of the Elite Moon pack." You could see in his face he was proud of his pack. I would have gasped in awe if I hadn't already suspected. Dominic is the alphas of all alphas. He's known to be virtually emotionless to anyone outside his pack. A man of few words. Young and wise at the same time, matched with his superior strength and speed, there is no doubt he is THE alpha.

"Well, Dominic, this was all swell but I really must be going now-"

"Oh love, you won't be going anywhere. Especially without me." Dominic's beautiful gray eyes turned stormy, almost swirling with the gold color of his wolfs' eyes.

"Excuse me?" Panic and excitement consumed me.

"You heard me love. Try to run from me again- actually, I dare you to. My wolf is dying for a chase." His eyes were somehow teasing and serious at the same time, and I didn't have a doubt that a chase would be childs play for him.

I wasn't entirely sure that I wanted to leave him again- or even if it was possible.

I already had feelings for the man, and Goddess knows he has an effect on my body. Espiecially when he speaks Latin- I might not know exactly what he's saying but I'm putty in his hands when he talks like that.

I didn't want to be one of those girls that just fell at their mates' feet, but at the same time I didn't want to be stupidly stubborn.

So for now, I decided, I will play.

After Dominic and I talked, if you could call it that, Domininc was called away with alpha business. He'd been in his office for hours now, and my wolf wanted to play.

I took my sweet time finding his office, giving myself more time to think of a plan. I didn't really know how to ask to play without having to come right out and say it, which would be embarrassing. I didn't want him to see me as a little girl.

I strode into his office without knocking and right up to where he was sitting behind his desk. I plopped myself in his lap and wound my arms around his neck, burying my head in his chest. I had missed him, even though it had only been a few hours. I would always want to be near him, even if I didn't have (slight) feelings for him.

Dominics strong arms were instantly around my waist, caging me in. He ducked his head into my neck to nuzzle me, making butterflies flutter in my stomach. I felt so safe and warm in his arms like this, that the only thing I could compare it to was coming home. I could feel the vibration of the rumbling purr from his chest as I rested my head against him before wiggling out of his arms and shifting into my wolf, who was already wagging her tail, wanting to play with her mate already.

I could see the smile pulling at his lips as his eyes were already becoming his wolfish gold. I took off as fast as I could, rounding corners and slipping on rugs until I made it out the back door with my mate close behind. I hightailed it to the trees, trying to get more of a lead.

As soon as I reached the tree line, however, he caught up to me, tackling me to the ground but taking the brunt of the impact. I recovered first and stood over his chest with my paws against his shoulders. He was so big I almost couldn't stand over him like this because my paws barely reached the ground.

The sight of us like this must have been highly amusing to an outsider. A wolf that was almost childsized compared to the large alpha under her paws, the same Alpha that could strike fear in even the strongest of alphas with a single calculating look. The little wolf was proving to be a challenge for her alpha, and the alpha has accepted the challenge.
