Sometimes I just want to feel like I'm not alone in this world, and for the first time, I don't have to face it alone. All my life I've felt alone. People come and they go, never thinking that there might be something to stay for. Maybe that's why I didn't want a mate, for fear he would leave like everyone else. Maybe I'm just setting myself up to be hurt again, but I can't bring myself to care because Dominic is worth it. He's worth the pain.
Dominics POV
Skylar is tiny. She's so little, sometimes I fear i'll crush her. She is so childlike yet so mature, half the time I can't wrap my head around it. I just want to hug her and hold her; keep her warm and safe. Her laugh is infectious and her anger is strangely a turn on. I can't help to fall in love with her all over again everytime her pretty blue eyes light up when she sees me, or when she has a plan to tease me in some way. Such a little minx, I mused. Always got something up her sleeve.
Little arms wound around my neck as her curvy legs hugged my waist. A chuckle escaped me as i held onto the bottom of her thighs, lightly tracing little patterns as I continued walking to our bedroom. In the two months she's been here, everything seems to be brighter and better. That may be due to my rosecolored glasses though.
"mi amour what are you doing now?' I inquired knowing she probably wanted something.
She began to trail kisses up and down the column of my throat, leaving my mind in a state of disarray. "Let's go out!" she dropped off my back and took me by the hand to the garage and into my surburban.
We drove around for about an hour, teasing and laughing at each other. Eventually she decided that we were going to the baseball game and I happily obliged.
Three hours later Sky was exhausted from the exciting game and rode on my back to the car, looking very much like a child after a hard day at play. My love for her grows everyday, and I look forward to everyday that is spent with mi amour, because everyday with her is a good day.
