Skylar's POV

Ooh, he is so getting his ass kicked. That son of a dog, thinking he can just get away with everything. Not this time, dammit. Dominic thinks he's so in charge, he doesn't know anything.

I continued ranting in my head as I stood, feet apart and my hands on my hips, awaiting an explanation from his highness.

"Dammit, Skylar, I mean it. You can't leave. I know you're restless, but you're just going deal for a few more weeks." Dominic snapped at me.

I knew tensions had been running high for him this past week; he was constantly at one meeting or another, but hadn't uttered a peep about anything to me. Claiming he was "too tired." I knew he was hiding something, but had left it until now, thinking he'd come to me on his own.

"Oh screw you! I need to run to the grocery store, whether you like it or not." Dominic snarled as I raised my voice at him, but I was no where near ready to apologize. Whirling around, I yanked my keys off the hook and stomped to my car, slamming the door on my way.

It took me the drive to the grocery store to calm down enough to realize that had just yelled in an alphas face.

Serves him right, I sneered. He really

had been rubbing my nerves this week, constantly stepping on my toes yet so distant at the same time. it was enough to drive anyone mad.

After grabbing the few things we needed, I mindlessly wandered toward the cash register. A bright pink ad caught my eye, advertising pregnancy tests. No, I thought, no way. I snatched one quickly anyway, just to be sure.

The whole way home my nerves rattled as the butterflies in my stomach fluttered. I was at least two weeks late, but could it still be chalked up as irregular?

I jogged up the porch steps, my items in hand. The door flew open before I could even reach for the knob, revealing a very worried Dominic.

"Skylar, baby." He wrapped me up in his arms, nuzzling his face in my neck.

I immediately relaxed in his arms, allowing him to carry me to the living room and relieve me of my parcels. I was still in a sort of daze about the whole baby theory, and didn't even think twice about letting Dominic put away the groceries.

He suddenly appeared in front of me, squatting to my level from where I sat on the couch.

"Skylar?" He quietly inquired, holding the test where she could see it.

I suddenly wasn't able to look away from the box that held vital answers. it could change her life completely. She wasn't even married yet! A whimper unexpectedly escaped me, making Dominic gather me into his arms. I clung to him as he soothed me, petting my hair and murmuring assurances to me.

"Baby girl, its okay. Skylar baby, either way, we're okay. We're okay."

Finally finding the will to man up, I slid out of his arms, taking the box with me, and padded my way to the bathroom with an equally anxious wolf following behind.
