The day was finally here. The day I've been waiting for for months. The day I get to see my favorite band live. The day of the Arctic Monkeys concert! I'd been counting down the days since I got my tickets for my 18th birthday!

The morning of, I woke up and shot up in my bed smiling like an idiot. I was so excited i could hardly contain my squeals of excitement. Finally I'd be in the prescience of the sex god Alex Turner! Since I'm 18 now i'm hoping for a little action afterward.

Looking in my closet I pick out my outfit having to keep in mind it's the middle of February and it's totally freezing outside!

I decide on a black velvet dress that fits tighter around the bust and falls about mid-thigh. It doesn't cover my shoulders so i pick a leather jacket from the closet. Next i put on black leggings to keep my legs warm while waiting in line! I find my favorite pair of thigh high socks before slipping on my favorite combat boots.

Looking in the mirror i decide my outfit would be nicely paired with winged eyeliner and red lipstick. Aren't all outfits?! I struggle to apply my eyeliner despite all the practicing I've done for days so i could look my best! Once i finally got it right, i put on my red velvet shaded lipstick.

Satisfied with my outfit, i find my favorite purse and model it in front of the mirror. Giving myself a nod of approval i grab my money and head out the door.

The concert starts in about 6 hours and i decide i want to wait in line for about 2 hours. To kill time, I go to the shops in this boring town in Indiana. Why would anyone want to live here? Nothing special ever happens, I think to myself.

Despite the town being dreadfully boring, I managed to find a record shop conveniently across the street. For hours, I walked down the isles running my fingers along all the music that had touched people's hands prior to mine. It made me sad knowing I wouldn't be able to listen to all the music in the world before I die; I felt the same way about books.

After about 2 hours, I felt my stomach rumble and decided to go to a burger place a few stores down. I ordered a hamburger and a glass of water. I had to be careful not to drink too much so I wouldn't have to use the bathroom during the show.

While I ate, I pulled out the book I was currently in the middle of and started reading. I lost myself in the story and when I snapped back into reality, it was time for me to go wait in line!

I paid for my meal and ran across the street to the line. Long, but not too long. I found my place in the back and stood in the cold. The wind was blowing against my legs and I shivered as it found its way up my dress. Time passed slowly, but there was some entertainment in the line. People were singing Arctic Monkeys and I heard girls scream every now and then about how beautiful Alex was. I could only hope I'd be able to keep my cool and not scream my head off if I met him.

I began imagining what it would be like to meet him and how he'd smell, the things he would say, and all the lovely things I dreamed he'd say to me. Before I knew it, the line was moving into the venue! It was finally time..
