"you will never know me." tyler said, feeling defensive as he curled up against the headboard of his bed. josh was crouching at the other end of his bed, too dark to see his face but the moonlight could perfectly make out his shape.
"you'll have to let me know you." josh said, his voice rough. "can you just leave? there's got to be someone else that you can bother." he said. "i don't want to, i wanna stay with you." josh replied.
"why?!" tyler raised his voice. "i just want to go to sleep!"

"he was screaming again. yes at night. when i ask him he denies it all. no." tyler listened to his mother on the phone. he rolled his eyes, it wasn't his fault.
josh came about a month ago. he'd come late at night and bother tyler. he's constantly trying to get to know him but tyler doesn't want him to know, he wants him to leave. he hasn't slept properly in a while.
it always starts when tyler dreams. josh finds a way to crawl inside his head. when he wakes up, josh is there. he's never really seen josh fully, his features barely show in the dark. he only knew that he was the same age as tyler, which is weird since his voice is so different from tyler's.
"ty!" his mother called from downstairs. he stood at the top of the stairs, watching her put her shoes on at the front door. "i'm going now, dad should be home in about an hour. you're sleeping at grandma's tonight." she said. thank god. tyler thought.
"ok." he said as she opened the door. "bye, love you!" she said. "love you too." tyler said as she closed the door. he sighed, the house filled with silence. he went back to his room.
he fell back onto his bed as he heard his mothers car pull out of the driveway and disappear down the road.
"you can't get rid of me."
tyler was startled by the familiar voice. he sat up and looked around his room. no one was there, but it sounded like someone was right next to him. "go away!" tyler groaned as he buried his face into his pillows.
he heard a slight movement and looked up quickly. a figure stood before him. he was holding one of tyler's basketball trophies. "so you play basketball." he smirked as he put it back down. "that's one thing i now know." he smiled.
"who are you?!" tyler looked frightened by the sudden person in his room. "i'm josh." he said, moving closer to tyler. "s-stay away from me!" tyler yelled. josh raised his eyebrows.
he wasn't that bad looking at all, tyler was expecting some creepy guy to appear. either way he still didn't like josh.
"what's wrong tyler?" josh asked. "is your depression acting up again?" tyler's eyes widened. "feeling scared around your family?"
"stop." tyler said
"scared that they'll see what's up your sleeve?"
"stop! get out! leave me alone!" tyler covered his ears and squeezed his eyes shut. "you don't understand! you don't know! go away!"
he slowly relaxed his facial muscles, opening his eyes. josh was gone. tyler looked around to make sure, before burying his face in his hands. trying his best not to cry, and failing.
