Trek in the Mountains

Chapter 4

Chapter 4

......A few minutes later they heard footsteps on the roof of the cabin. Slowly, the old man get his shotgun and loaded it. The two hikers were also given pistols to defend themselves. The old man told them to stay in the cabin while he will go out and kill the beast. The two hikers pleaded the old man to not go out of the cabin, for they knew what will happened if he will go out. The old man told them that he already encountered the beast 5 years ago and shot it, but didn't killed it. The man also told them that if anything will go wrong, stay inside the cabin. So the two men can do nothing but wait.

As soon as the old man got out, there were gunshots fired and the old man began screaming for help and after the last gunshot was fired, a loud, grudging voice was heard, saying, "DIE!" The hikers didn't see anything for it was still 2 am and the cabin was located near the woods. They did nothing in the following hours. All they do is sit and wait. They can feel its presence all over the place. Also, the cabin has nothing but only a lamp, a bed and 3 windows. They knew they should not stay near windows for they may be caught by the beast. So, they decided to trek back to the village as soon as the sun will rise.

"3:30 am, when an unexpected thing happen."

They again hear footsteps on the roof of the cabin. Aiming their pistols on the roof, the hikers were now very frightened to hear that the beast may break open the roof. But suddenly, the footsteps were gone. One of them said, "Ha! You dullard creature! You thought you can scare us to death!? Hell no!" As he continue to say stuff like that, the wall near where the hiker was standing was penetrated by the claws of the beast. Panicked, they shoot at the beast simultaneously that they forgot that they only have a few bullets to spare. They saw the beast wounded from the first shots of the old man. Then luckily, the other hiker grabbed a machete from a table then began to slash the right arm of the beast, hence, making a cut on its arm. The beast was then driven away. They thought they were victorious, so they get all they need from the cabin and began to run in the path leading to the village. At first they were delighted, but then they heard a very disturbing cry deep in the woods.........to be continued.
