Garcia was so smart and good at what they were working on. Josh really admired her. They had now come down to three theories and it only took about six months to catch up. They had a few accidents on the way but they were only slight setbacks.
They were about to test one of the bigger theories when Garcia passed out. She collapsed so suddenly with no sign of anything. When Josh ran to her, he felt that she barely had a pulse and that she was barely breathing. Stephen was panicking and he called an ambulance while Josh carried her to a couch.
They took her to the hospital, Josh freaking out the whole time and Stephen trying to calm him down. Josh and Garcia had gone on a few dates and we're really starting to like each other.
A nurse came out with a grim look on her face. "Does she have any family with her?"
Josh couldn't respond so Stephen had to do the talking for him. "Not that we know of. Sorry."
"It's alright. I have some devastating new that I hate to tell people. Garcia has stage four lung cancer and only has about seven months."
Josh couldn't help it and he lost it, moaning and crying. He was thinking over and over that everyone he got close with died. Stephen took him home that night and stayed on the couch to make sure nothing bad happened with him.
With Garcia in the hospital, Josh and Stephen really needed to up their game.
