"I know when you're around cause I know the sound of your heart."

Luke closes the door behind him as he walks into his home.  Boxes are still scattered around the living room, considering the Hemmings family just moved in last weekend.  His long legs carry him into the kitchen to see a note on the countertop "Luke, I am working the night shift at the hospital tonight I won't be home till around three.  Please feed your siblings and help with any homework they have.  Love you!  Xoxo, Mum."  He sighs and crumples up the paper, throwing it in the trash.

He makes his way up the stairs into his room.  He takes his Adidas jumper off and throws his black joggers somewhere on the floor before placing some leggings and a huge All Time Low hoodie on.  He hears the door open downstairs and soon the house is filled with the sounds of his little siblings.   Don't get Luke wrong, he loves his siblings more than anything in the world but sometimes being the oldest of seven can be like living in Hell.

Luke's mum never thought she would have so many kids, in fact, she only thought she would be having Luke.  It wasn't until Luke was five that his mother decided he needed a sibling, and soon after that she just kept having more.  Now at seventeen, Luke has six beautiful little siblings who absolutely idolize him.

Teagan, the oldest of the seven comes bombarding into Lukes room and jumps on top of him, making them both fall to the floor in a frenzy of giggles.  The twelve year olds brown curls are in his mouth but he has no time to get them out or shove her away before they are being attacked by Marcus, 10, and Alexis, 9.  Luke strains to breathe under the weight of his siblings.

"Guys please I can't breathe, I have to get up and make dinner." The children immediately scramble off of him at the mention of food, making Luke laugh at their sudden change of mood.  He runs down the steps, tow at a time and heads into the kitchen, finding his two youngest siblings, Stella and Jackson having a conversation at the dining table.  'For being only seven and five they seem to be having a pretty intense conversation over there', he thinks before turning on the stove and starting to boil some water.

After hours of Luke picking mac and cheese up off the floor, helping Marcus with his science homework, giving Jackson a bath and tucking all the little ones in, he finally flops into his bed, groaning in satisfaction.   Luke quickly makes sure his alarm is on before dozing off, dreaming of mac and cheese and the black haired boy that sits next to him in art.
