BERG8U2 : Hi it's BERG8U2!! This is my first ever fanfic that I've published and I hope you like it. It is written in collaboration with a friend, so credit and other stuff mostly goes to her.

Marissa : Just get on with the story already! Stop hogging all of the reader's time and let us tell it.

BERG8U2 : Fine, fine, fine. Just don't take out your anger on the readers or there won't be a story to tell anymore. * hands pages to Marissa*

Marissa : *mutters* It took long enough. I mean come on it's not like we matter or anything, we're just fake!

BERG8U2 : If I give you cookies will you stop bothering me.

Marissa : NO!!! I refuse to be silenced! OC lives matter! But cookies sound nice.

BERG8U2 : Sure *gives plate of cookies*  But yeah, please read on and I hope that you really like it!

Marissa : *mutters* you better like it.

BERG8U2 : BE NICE TO THE READERS MARISSA OR ELSE NO HAPPY ENDING!!!

I laid on my back on the roof of my ship, the di Angelo, looking for my favorite constellation: Perseus.  For a strange reason I felt a connection with that name.  I noticed a new constellation that looked like girl running with a bow and arrows.  I don't remember learning about that one from Marco.

Strange, yet curious.  Then I remembered that Perseus is a winter constellation. Then why was this constellation suddenly beckoning to me at this time of year?  Besides, it's like the middle of the night New York time, probably past, but still I felt wide awake.

"Prepare to dock" my crew mate Antonio called as the di Angelo pulled into New York Harbor.  Antonio is the second oldest of his six brothers.  The oldest Marco is twenty-nine, Antonio is twenty-seven, Nicholas is twenty-six, the twins,Vincent and Victor are twenty-four, and the youngest is Michelangelo and he is nineteen.

"There you are!" Michelangelo exclaimed. Sometimes we call him Mike. "We were looking all over for you, Marisa. I was starting to get worried."

"Very funny, Mike." I said sarcastically "Where are the others?"
"Downstairs getting ready to dock, obviously." Mike said.  I climbed down from the roof and began to prepare to drop the anchor.  As I walked to my station I asked Mike about my father, and Mike stopped in his tracks.

"Are you absolutely sure you don't know anything else about him?  Not even his name?" I asked.
"I've already told you everything I know, Marisa.  Your parents met at sea, feel in love, had you, the he abandoned your mother. I'm sorry but that is all my brothers and your mom would tell me, after all I am the baby.

In fact Vincent and Victor were a little bit younger than you when we began to work with your grandfather." Mike said "Marco, Antonio, Nicholas, Vincent, and Victor think I'm still too young to know the whole story even though I'm nineteen going on twenty.  There is a big age gap between all of us so we have some distance.  I like talking with you though.  You understand me better than my family but you've know me your whole life so I guess that makes sense."

"But why? Why would he leave Carmen Owens and her infant child? Was it for another woman? Was he arrested? Is he still even alive? I need more than 'he just left', please, you must know something" I begged.

"Look, I know your curious, but I already told you---" Michelangelo was cut off
"Told her what little bro?" Nicholas, Mike's third oldest brother said.
"The details of her father" Mike mumbled.
"We have orders from captain Owens to not tell her anything about her father" Nicholas warned.

"She has a right to know something!" Mike snapped back. And I left to continue my work.  When I looked up at the water I noticed a sea monster is that is so red it could have been cherry-flavored. I smiled at the thought as went back into the water the strange thing was that it's been seeing popping up for the past two days.

I see things like this all the time though but every time I mention it to the crew or my mom everyone freaks out and thinks I got heat stroke and they keep me below deck for a week, so I keep them to myself. Then the cherry-flavored monster came up again closer this time. I ran to find my mom. The second I reached her post at the steering wheel the boat lurched sideways to starboard.

"Mom, a monster is attacking us and you have to believe me!"I cried. Mom looked over the side of the ship and gasped.

"I do sweetheart come with me" mom said sweetly. "Emergency Evac. Op. Seventeen!" She called over the loudspeaker to the crew and everyone started running below deck to get supplies while my mother dragged to the side of the boat where we jumped overboard. The dock was over twenty yards away I knew we wouldn't make it, but I felt a strong gust of wind push us and we hit the dock running away from the harbor.

I turned just in time to see the monster do a belly flop onto the boat cutting it in half.  In time to see my closest friends die. In time to see my home for the last thirteen years be destroyed.  A tear rolled down my cheek as mom hailed us a taxi cab and we shuffled in.

Chapter 2 Blooper

One day we were sailing off the coast of Sicily and found six boys clinging onto a pice of a boat for dear life. That's how we found our crew. Your grandfather died six months before you were born. Six weeks after he died and I became captain we found an unconscious man laying on a pice of driftwood. We took him on board and nursed him back to health. After some time we fell in love.

He left a few weeks after you were born. I was heart broken; but you have his eyes, his face shape, and his hair. Oh you both have the most beautiful black hair I've ever seen. Those eyes you too have remind me of the sea every time I look at them. Everyday I see you and think of him and think of how lucky I am to have you," She sniffled and whipped a tear from her face "But I knew it was the only way to keep you safe."
