Her sword skittered away from them to the base of the hill. I ran back down the hill and picked up Mom's sword then I charged at the beast that was almost finished his meal. I was approximately ten feet away when he noticed me, and he too charged. I stuck out my sword and closed my eyes. I don't know how it happened but he exploded into dust.

I was too surprised, I couldn't think straight so I turned and ran back to the hill without thinking. At the peak I was exhausted and I collapsed onto a giant toe. Realizing that it was a toe, I screamed so loud it pierced through the valley and would have woken up anything that was sleeping and had ears. I shot up from the toe and ran down the opposite side of the hill into the valley. I was running so fast that I tripped and was rolling the rest of the way down and blacked out.

When I came to there was a group of kids surrounding me from the ages ranging of about eight to college students all in the odd mix of battle armor and pajamas. A boy with pale skin, blonde hair, and gray eyes was tending to my ankle. He shifted it and the pain was so unbearable that I shot straight up and hit a boy with shaggy blonde hair, tan skin, and blue eyes in the nose and sent him stumbling backwards into another boy wearing all black, who fell into a girl with dyed green hair and she fell back into a half-man-half-horse dude who caught them; basically human dominos. Then I realized that I wasn't holding Mom's sword anymore.

"My sword!" I gasped "Where is it?" I was looking around frantically, but didn't see it.
"Is this it?" It was the girl with her hair dyed green. "'Cause I accidentally sat on it when I fell," she replied sheepishly.

"Yes, that's it!" I beamed. I began to get up but the boy who was tending my ankle tightened his grip on me.
"I'd stay still if I were you" he warned. As much as I didn't want to, I obeyed.
"All campers please report back to your cabins. In fifteen minutes the counselors will be doing bed checks." The half-man-half-horse dude called out to the crowd "Will Solace, Malcolm Pace, and Odysseus Jacobs may stay to help with this poor girl wh---"

"And me!" the boy with black hair called out. "I have a doctor's note."
"Yes Nico we are all aware of of your note that you must stay with Will no matter the circumstances." The horse guy chided and the guy in black smiled, embarrassed. The crowd dissipated into the gloom of the night. One scrawny Latino boy stayed behind with a young girl on his arm with gorgeous blonde hair.

"What is it with hot girls always breaking their ankles?" He asked out loud "First Piper in that warehouse in Detroit, then Annabeth on her deadly solo quest in Rome, then Hazel in the House of Hades! I bet Calypso is next." The girl next to him slapped his arm playfully and together they walked off.

The boy with blonde hair and gray eyes tried to help me walk to a big farmhouse that I would guess was painted blue. After a few failed attempts of trying to help me a handsome boy with toffee colored skin, folded caramel hair to one side with the rest cropped closely, and baby blue eye that danced in the light of the moon offered to help carry me. The blonde boy held me close to him, yet loosely in contrast to the boy with the toffee skin whom held me with a strong grip around my waist.

I looked down to find my with denim shorts and white and red striped shirt dirty and in tatters, making me self conscious of the two boys holding me. They were both attractive in their own separate ways but I couldn't focus on them at the time after the events with my mother.

They boys set me down onto a couch next to a fireplace with a leopard head on the wall with grape vines sprouting of the wall. I heard the sound of an electric wheelchair rolling and the guy who was the horse-man rolled into the room . Then I realized that it was impossible because he was just a horse. Must be his twin brother because he looks exactly like the horse-guy.

"Hello child, we have much to discuss. I am Chiron and welcome to Camp Half-Blood."
