Ch17

As they neared the door Angie could hear a familiar tune whistling through the hallways. "Is that...?" she wondered aloud as she opened the door. She gasped in excitement; moogles of all shapes and sizes darted around the room handling letters, tinkering on machines, and chirping "Kupo!"
As she watched the moogles scamper about she imagined letters spelling out "Mognet Central" like they did in the game, their theme song echoing through the speakers of the room really helped her envision it.
"Kupo! Mosh! I need---I need---!!" she sniffed the air and looked at the guests, "Kupo! Kupo! Kupopopo!!" She scurried away behind a machine, the others joining her.
"Awww!!! They're so cute~~~!!" Angie couldn't help herself, she cooed like a little schoolgirl. "Aww!"
A tiny little moogle smaller than the rest dragging a small blue blanket walked into the center of the room and rubbed their eyes sleepily before looking around, "Kupo! Chimomo! Chimomo!" The moogle turned to the others all peeking from their cluster behind the machines. The little cutie yawned before looking at one's outstretched paw with a 'hmm?' and following their gaze to the many humans that had entered the room. Chimomo squeaked in surprise before frantically dashing around behind the machine, next to who Angie guessed were her parents, and dropping her blanket in the process.
"It's okay!" Angie soothed, "We won't hurt you." she picked up the little one's blanket and knelt down by the machine.
A little voice whispered in the back, "Does it eat Moogles?"
Angie looked behind her, she jumped when she saw Quina standing amongst the group, "When did you get here Quina?"
"Me find yummy yummy's to eat."
"YUMMIES!? WHERE!?"
Quina turned to Kya, Angie chuckled as she realized they spoke one another's love language. "Quina do you have any kupo nuts?" Angie asked.
She shook her head making her tongue flop about, "Me no find kupo nuts but me find lots of yummy frogs in Grotto!"
"Frogs!" Angie wasn't sure whether Kya was disgusted or not until she said, "Show me!"
"You like food? You gourmand?"
"YES I LOVE FOOD!!!"
"We be good friends!! Me show you where!!" Rowan sighed as Kya gleefully drug him out after Quina.
"What was that about?" Zidane asked as he walked in, "Nevermind... Don't tell me... Oh, hey guys," Zidane waved to the moogles. "You guys have any clue where we are?" he asked everyone.
"Kupo! Are they safe?" a small one asked.
"Not sure. So whats up? You gonna be nice to the moogles?"
"I love moogles," Angie grinned, "They're so cute!! Here!" She handed the blanket to Zidane, "It belongs to Chimomo the little baby over there."
He took it and handed it to Kupo who had his paw outstretched. "So Kupo. What are you guys up to?"
"We went poof! Kupo! And suddenly we're here! We're gathering together and building a letter sorter to find others, kupo!"
"But Mognet isn't working, kupo! We need help! I'm Mogmi," she shook paws? Hands? With Angie.
"Angie," she introduced the rest of her companions, "We can help you fix the letter sorter, Tony, the Doctor, and I are really good at tech," she grinned.
"Michael and Billy too," Pepper ruffled their hair.
"Mom!" the boys groaned in unison.
"So what'cha need?" Angie chirped, "Superslick? Parts? Tools? Extra paws?"
"Kupo!!! You have superslick??" A blur of purple fuzz fell from above, landing in front of Angie with a pose like a cliche anime character was the leader of Mognet Central. The moogle sent a paw through his fur before straightening it and pointing like he was super cool before asking, "Where is it?? Kupo!"
Her eyebrows went up, "Artmicion?"
"Kupo! How did you know my name?"
A moogle came up to her and sniffed, three more joined, she tried to hold\[back a grin at their cute fluffiness. "Kupo! Suzie?"
"Huh?"
"Kupo! It is!" Another moogle jumped happily.
"Kupo!!" Another offered, "Eiko will be happy! Kupo!"
"What are you guys talking about?" Zidane asked. "What about Suzie?"
"Kupo! This is Suzie!"
Zidane raised his eyebrows as he looked over Angie, "This isn't Suzie you guys."
"Suzie!! Kupo!!" Chimomo jumped on her with a hug.
"Awww~~~~!!!" Angie couldn't help but coo and cuddle the little one back.
"You know her?" The Doctor asked.
Zidane shook his head, "I don't know what has gotten into you guys. This isn't her."
Chimomo cuddled her, "I missed you, kupo!"
"Are you sure, Mogmatt? Kupo!" Artmicion asked him.
"Kupo! I recognize Suzie! She used to buy me kupo nuts! Kupo!"
Zidane sighed, "She doesn't even look like Suzie."
"We're fairies!" Chirped Nazna, "Kupo!"
"Kupo! You should pay better attention Zidane!" Mocha said.
"Who's Suzie?" Tony asked.
"Our dwarven friend from conde Petie, "Zidane explained, "She was best friends with another friend of ours; Eiko."
"Was?" Pepper asked.
"She disappeared in the middle of battle in Memoria. As much as I'd like her to be Suzie, it's not possible..."
"I---I lost all my memories..." Angie slumped, "I was hoping they were right..."
"We are!" Chimomo nuzzled her face.
Angie smirked, her heavy heart lifting slightly at the cute bundle in her arms. "My sisters loved Mogs..." Angie looked over to see Cloud lost in memories. He knelt down beside a baby and her momma, ruffling the babies hair a little bit making it chirp Kupo! And spin around in circles happily. Kupo! Kupo!
"Maria loves them too," Tony smirked.
Janet chuckled, "I'm pretty sure everyone does! You little guys are just so cute!"
The one nearest to her puffed up his fur, "Kupo! We're not just cute! We're strong! And smart and... Kupo! And fast!!" He breathed in heavily and flexed before picking up Janet and holding her in the air, or at least that's what he intended. The little fluffball ran in place as he tried to at least push her an inch, his little fluffy feet slipping on the floor as he tried. "We're strong! Kupo!!" he groaned as he tried to push her.
"Kupo!" Mogmatt chuckled, "You're not helping our case, Gumo."
"Kupo! I meant to do that!" Gumo's fur ruffled even higher as he plopped onto the ground grumpily.
"We don't mean for it to be demeaning you're just so adorable!" Angie squealed happily as she scooped up some other moogles in a hug. "It's just so hard to resist! You're cuteness factor is an infinity over ten!!!"
Chimomo and the other babies squealed happily as Angie hugged them. "So are you gonna help us or not? Kupo!" Gumo asked.
Angie and the others reluctantly got down to business as Artmicion ordered them around, "Okay! We need hammers, nails, screwdrivers, kupo! Boards, bricks, paper, pens, superslick, and a stick of supersticky gum! Kupo!"
"Kupo! Don't forget the peanut butter!" Mogriffin shouted.
"Kupo!!! PEANUT BUTTER!!!!" A ball of fluff zoomed past them and around the room, "Kupo! Kupo, kupo, kupo, KUPOPO!!!!" Before tripping and sliding on his face face toward three other moogles.
Mogmatt looked over to Angie after sighing longing, "Peanut butter tastes just like kupo nuts...!! Mmmm...!! Kupo!"
"We just found it today!!!" Chimomo chirped excitedly as she pointed to a corner of the room Angie hadn't noticed. Her eyes widened at how many jars were stacked in the corner on top of wads of gum and clumps of peanut butter that had clung to the machine, the floor, and pretty much you name it, the only other thing in the pile was a box of twinkies that looked nearly untouched except for a few paw printsd. When she looked around she realized that the moogles and floor weren't supposed to be as brown as they were! Peanut butter was everywhere!!! They had it smeared on themselves on the floor, on the walls, on the machines!!! "I---I thought you guys were just a darker brown... Bu---bu--i--is that really all peanut butter!?"
Mogmatt sighed and pulled a lump out of his fur, "We got gum tangled in our fur... Kupo!" He tried to flick it off but it stayed on his paw.
Angie looked at her shirt and hands letting out a surprised laugh. "You guys got peanut butter all over me!"
Dean raised his eyebrows, "Catnip much?"
"Very!!" Angie laughed.
Mickey laughed, "Oh, you guys!"
Riku smirked, "Looks like we need to get this place hosed down before we can start working on your machine---." Angie followed his gaze to the mess, "Does that say, 'Peter Pan Peanut butter'?"
"Kupo!! Peter Pan Peanut Butter alert!!! Peter Pan Peanut Butter alert!!! KUPOPO!!!" The same moogle slid across the floor and dashed out into the hallway tripping every once in a while and sliding a few inches.
"Kumop's getting more! Kupo!" Mogmatt cheered.
"KUPO!!" They all cheered in unison.
"I think we may need an intervention," Dean snorted.
The party was working on the letter machine when Cloud shouted in surprise, "Yuffie! What the---!"
"Hey Cloud!!! What'cha up to!? Huh!? Huh!?" She pulled on his sleeve as Nicky bounced beside her, "Nicky says she's a better thief but I don't think so!! Tell her Cloud! The Single White Rose of Wutai is the best and most beautiful thief in all the worlds!!"
Zidane scoffed, "The best thief?"
"Yeah? What of it punk!?" She spat back. "I'll show all of you who the better thief is! Once and for all!!" She tugged on Cloud's collar in emphasis, "Right Cloud!?"
He sighed, "Not now Yuffie..."
"I'll help!" Angie hopped over, "Hi!"
"Nice! So what's it gonna be!? How are we gonna decide the winner," she glared at the two before grinning mischieviously at Angie.
"Hmm..." Angie pondered. "TARDIS! Please set up a stealing contest for Nicky, Yuffie, and Zidane! The winner recieves..." She dug in her bag and paused as she eyed her contents, "Une's Mirror..." She pulled it out and stared at it once more before looking at the others.
"Oooooh~~~~~~!!!!" Yuffie squealed like a kid in a candy shop, "Is it magic!? Is it valuable!? Is it like materia!?!?!?"
"Well it's a priceless magical artifact but materia probably not so much..." Yuffie looked mildly disappointed.
"Deal!"
The three and the Une's Mirror disappeared in a white light, "You sure that was a good idea?" Cloud asked.
"I don't know... I just got the feeling that I should..."
He nodded, "That's good." She was working on Mognet when they heard something being dragged through the hallways.
Dean looked out the door to see Kumop dragging a giant sack. He chuckled and took pity on him, going outside and hefting the bag over his shoulder. Kumop jumped onto the back of it growling and snapping at Dean like a dog who was afraid of losing his bone. He set the bag down in the middle of the floor and Kumop delicately opened it taking out a peanut butter jar and gently petting it with his paw, leaving a pattern of smooshed fur on his cheek as he nuzzled it. Angie swore she could hear him thinking, "My precious...!!!"
"KUPO!!" the moogles gathered around him in a circle.
"Uh-uh, you guys, if you want a letter sorter we need your help and this work station clean," Tony said. "You can have your peanut butter once it's done."
"Awww!" they all slumped disappointed and returned to work. Angie watched as Kumop looked around slyly before flying up to a rafter above the machine and sticking his paw into the jar. His face melted in absolute happiness when he stuck the peanut butter covered paw in his mouth and began to suck on it like a binky.
Angie snorted and shook her head before continuing to work next Mogmatt who explained to her the blueprint he was holding onto. He wiped away a few peanut butter stains from the designs before licking it off his paw. When the machine was finally completed everyone cheered and Artmicion turned it on with a loud kupo!
"ASSUMING ROBOT FORM. LAUNCH TOAST! LAUNCH TOAST!"
"Everybody down!!" The Doctor shouted as he pulled Donna and Angie to the floor.
"Since when did we get a transformer for a toaster!?" Angie yelled as the machine launched letters and toasters around the room like a disco style machine gun. Angie cringed as one of the toasts hit a light above her and sent glass raining down. Another hit Kumop's peanut butter sending it flying across the room towards three baby moogles huddling in corner. They all squealed in terror, the Doctor reached for his sonic to shut it down but couldn't find it. He growled Nicky's name like a curse as the jar neared its target. Cloud and Mickey leapt up to defend them but ended up knocking into each other. Angie screeched and ran towards them through the buffet of grapeshot but didn't get there in time. She heard the babies squeal and looked up in time to see Gumo parkour across the room like a ninja and punch the peanut butter jar with his paw causing it to spin in the air before he launched a karate kick. His blow was so powerful it ricocheted across the room before striking the transformer right in its cirrcuitry. The transformer's voice slurred as it shut down leaving the room in awed silence.
Gumo bowed in a traditional Japanese style before a voice echoed around the room, "Mognet defeated by Gumo. Loot received; Recognition."
"You got that right!" Janet said, "Great job Gumo!!"
Everyone cheered for him, he even got some kisses by the fellow moogles, "Where'd you learn to fight like that?" Zidane asked.
"A traveling martial artist. Kupo!" Gumo bowed.
"That was amazing!!" Angie clapped excitedly. "Wait a minute. When'd you get here?"
"During the fray."
"Who won?"
Zidane chuckled, "Me of course," he held up the Une's Mirror, "Thanks. Here, you can have this," he handed her a strange object, "I found this outside. Nicky figures you might know who it belongs to."
She examined it, "Oh! Cool!"
"What is it?" Donna asked.
"An instrument," she wiped off the mouth piece before making a little tune.
"Reed pipes," The Doctor mused. "Oh, I've missed that sound...!" he drifted, "The last time I heard the strong smooth sound of reed pipes was when that young shepherd was leading his herd of slugbunnies through the New Olympus Lava Channel... He never did look the same after that Mechanized Ravager unleashed the mutagenic virus that decimated his whole field of firelings..." He looked around to see the faces staring at him. "Oh yes... Astravakia," he cleared his throat, "It's like--- steampunk, only with ancient greek monsters, talking plants, lava trees, fire imps, and sheep clouds... Oh!" he shook his head with a grimace, "You do not want to go outside when it rains!"
Tony raised his eyebrow, "Okay then..."
"Wait a minute!" Angie's face lit up, "Reed pipes! Found outside! Ancient Greece! I think I know who this belongs to!" she smirked. "Allons-y!" She turned towards the door, a grin on Donna and the Doctor's face, when something pulled on her leg.
She looked down to see Chimomo, "Kupo! Don't go! We miss you! Kupo!" The look on her face nearly broke Angie's heart. She knelt beside her and picked her up into a hug before explaining what was going on. "Okay. Kupo! You're gonna come back though right? Kupo!"
"Of course," Chimomo nuzzled her and gave her a little kiss before some of the other moogles gave her hugs. The babies tackled her with love, fulfilling Angies dream of being mauled by lovable cuteness as their little 'Kupo's filled the air.
