For the next few days I was in a bit of a daze. Each day I woke up, I sat around in my apartment, made 2 videos and tried to sound as upbeat as possible, then just sat around for the rest of the day. Then, after 3 days, Wade called.

ring ring
I didn't answer.
Ring Ring
My phone vibrated in my hand.
RING RING
"Alright, alright" I muttered. I answered.
"Hey Wade, what's up?"
The voice coming from the earpiece was low and cracked from yelling too much.
"You know what's up Sean? You haven't answered any of our calls or texts, and you haven't been online since you left LA! What's wrong?"
"What? Oh no I've just been busy, you know unpacking and-"
"Sean." Wade's voice had suddenly changed, it was more emotional and caring. "Sean, if there's anything you want to say, get off your chest, you can tell me. I promise I won't laugh or judge or tell the others if you don't want me to. But if you talk about it, it's going to make you feel better. Really."

I didn't say anything. I didn't know what to do.
Don't tell HIM. You can't tell ANYBODY. He's just LYING about not judging!" Said that annoying voice in my head.
But I trusted Wade. And I could see the sense in what he was saying. So slowly, and grudgingly, bit by bit, I told him what had happened.
He was true to his word. He didn't laugh or judge or do anything of the sort. Instead, he gave me advice.
And of course, made a pun.

And he did something I thought no one could do. He cheered me up.

"Thank you." It was just 2 words, but I knew he would understand how much what he had just done had helped me.

"Anytime Sean. Even at 2am."
I grinned and hung up on him.

I flopped back onto my bed with a sigh of relief. The world suddenly seemed a lot brighter.

Yeah that's what you think whispered the voice.

"Oh shut it. You're just an annoying little piece of shit that is there to cause me sadness."

But it's truuueeee....

"No. It's not."
