Guys, I'm sorry for not updating in forever. 🙈 I know I'm making you feel like I neglected this book, but I didn't. I'm just really busy with work at the moment. Lame excuse, I know but it's the truth. Anyways, I'll try to update more often. Enjoy the chapter. 😊

A new day and a brand new start to an exciting week. My mind was made up and the tasks for the week were crystal clear. Pumped full with energy - no clue where from - I got up on yet another Monday morning. Doing my usual routine of getting ready I let my mind run over last nights conversation with my husband, but quickly pushed the thoughts away not letting it ruin my mood. He probably just had a bad day. Never mind - let's do this!

Before I knew it I walked confidently toward my office with a smile on my face that turned into a frown when I noticed my employees were looking at me in a weird way. Do I have something in my face?

Rachel acted like everything was perfectly normal so I dismissed these worries immediately. I couldn't help but feel like something was up though. There was this weird feeling in the pit of my stomach and I didn't know what it was. Thinking it was the argument with Justin last night I rolled my eyes and let it slip. Instead I pulled out my phone to check my appearance. Nothing's in my face. Good. Sadly I also found there to be no indication of an apology from my husband which admittedly bummed me a little. The thing that is weird is that Justin and I do not argue. We just don't. Even after a shit load of time together and all the things we went through we never argue. We only ever disagree over things but would never fight so this was a scary situation. Emma, you're rambling! Get to work, this isn't the time or the place for your marriage issues! Chop chop!

"Rachel, can you come in for a sec please?"

"Sure." Five seconds later she walked in with a smile which I gratefully returned.

"What's up?"

"Take a seat." I offered. "I need you to hire a new assistant for me." She was scared. Oh the joy... This is fun!

"O-okay." Emma, you're mean!

I leaned forward with a smirk playing on my lips. "Relax!" I paused. "This will be for both our benefit. I want someone to organize my meetings, schedule, take calls, check my emails, all those little things. I'll also need more help organizing my private life so this is what the new person will do. You're too good for that and you're working too many hours as it is. Besides I plan on letting you do far more than you are doing right now."

"Wow." Rachel gasped as we both leaned back.

"You and I both know where this is heading and I'm sure I don't have to explain the meaning of this to you. We'll both step up and I need you to back me up more." I took a sip of my coffee.

"Rachel, I trust you very much. Working with you is a pleasure and you proved yourself to be loyal and hardworking. In fact the work you deliver is topnotch and you - excuse my french - saved my ass on multiple occasions." She chuckled at my words. "Also you know when to keep your mouth shut, so I know that I can trust you with this kind of information." I took a breath. Am I really saying this? Should I be telling my employees? "The minute the clock hits midnight at the end of the year I'll become CEO of Universal Music Group. Keith will still support me but step down." Rachel's eyes did not pop out of her head as expected. What the hell? "The rest of the bunch is gonna find out at the Christmas party."
