A couple weeks later my husband had left and was out there promoting his album. It had dropped just a couple days back and was doing more than great in the charts around the globe as was to be expected. I on the other hand was still in LA working and continuing my life like usually. We did what we always did when we were apart: facetiming as much as we could. Whenever we had time we would make sure to talk. It obviously wasn't the same, but well what else was there. From past experiences I was sure our relationship was strong enough to handle this.To keep my word I worked harder than ever before. Aside from the label I also had the foundation. It was doing great. Numerous artists and other people from the industry supported the cause and we had been able to give out a lot of scholarships over the past couple years. The bond with Julliard was strong and I made sure to visit them whenever I was in New York. Justin took time to do meet and greets with some of the young aspiring artists we supported. He counseled and supported them as best as he could. Same for a lot of others. Lady Gaga was a huge benefactor for example. She had always been openly supportive of gay rights and the combination with music was something she liked. But Justin and her were just two of the amazing people supporting this charity. For me it was tough to make time for it on top of work but it was dear to my heart so I tried my best. We had a fundraiser gala coming up and usually Justin would come too but he wasn't sure he would be able to make it because of his busy schedule.
Today was Saturday so for a change I wasn't working. On the weekend I always tried to make time for myself. Therefore I went to the dancing studio and also I had a fitting for my dress that I would be wearing to the fundraiser.
Later at night I met up with Kylie and Paris for dinner and drinks. Kylie and I had grown fairly close again. She was working as head of A&R at the label. Sadly her father lost the fight against cancer and passed away three years ago. Kylie was the only one from my American family to attend my wedding. Through her I got back in touch with the others as well, because I would see them at her birthdays and so on. Still it wasn't the same though. None of them apologized for how they treated me after my family passed. My aunt pretty much still wasn't speaking to me. I always tried my best to endure these events for Kylie but was glad once they were over every time.
Anyways, because Kylie and Paris knew each other from back in the day, they got along very well and these two - aside from my husband of course - basically were my family here in LA. I could count on them whenever and was glad to have them in my life.
"So, how's Justin?" Paris asked as we were sitting at the bar of 'The Nice Guy' - Kylie's favorite spot in LA.
"Good." It caused an immediate smile on my face. "Busy but good."
"I got the analytics late last night. The album went straight to number one in sixty-four countries." Kylie informed me.
"Wow. Seriously?" Paris asked.
"Of course." I smirked to myself. That was big even for Justin, but nothing surprised me anymore with his level. I proceeded to order a bottle of champagne for us to celebrate.
"Cheers!"
"To Justin!"
"Wait, let me take a photo." I pulled out my phone and took one of our three glasses clinking together.
"Cheers to you. Congratulations on going #1 worldwide! 🎉 Not that I expected any less of you... Thanks for giving us a reason to pop a bottle. Love and miss you 😘❤️" I texted him the photo smirking to myself.
"Wow this is seriously amazing. You must be so proud." Paris said to me and I couldn't hide my smile.
"Trust me I am."
