We were sitting at the Gryffindor table for the first breakfast of the school year when I was suddenly ticked on the shoulder. Sure it was Black, I didn’t turn around. Lily, who was sitting at the other side of the table, giggled and I glared at her. ‘I think someone wants to talk to you Faith.’ She snickered.
‘Shut up Lil.’ Molly, who was sitting next to her, giggled as well. Another tick on my shoulder and I was getting annoyed. I turned around saying, ‘what do you want Black!?’ and glared at him.
‘Somewhere deep inside you’re actually really happy to see me.’ I rolled my eyes.
‘Dream on Black.’
‘Why do you keep calling me Black!’ he whined.
‘You call me Campbell or babe… ,I don’t know which is worst, now don’t you Black.’ He took a seat next to me and I raised an eyebrow at him but he just smirked.
‘True, true. You know you love it.’ He winked.
‘Who told you that lie?’ I asked him drily. We continued arguing like this for a few minutes when I turned to Lily for help. Lily was gone, in fact, all of them had left us. ‘Great Black! Because of you I’m late for the first class of the year! And to make it even worse, it’s transfiguration! McGonagall is going to kill me!’
‘Well I’m late too!’
‘Yeah but nobody gives a crap about you being late!’ He looked like he wanted to argue, but then he just shrugged, knowing I was right.
‘Let’s go then before you’re even Later.’ He smiled and I glared at him and rolled my eyes before walking away from him. He had no problem keeping up though. Damn boys and their stupid long legs.
‘You never told me why you hate me.’
‘your point is?’
‘Don’t I deserve an explanation?’
‘No.’ He gave me puppy-dog eyes and I tried to ignore him but I felt his eyes burning holes into my skin.
‘Okay do you want to hear the truth?’ I finally snapped at him and he nodded. We were nearing the transfiguration classroom.
‘You and your friends are arrogant bullies, Black. Talk to me when you’ve changed.’ I walked inside the classroom. McGonagall looked angry, and I flinched under her glare.
‘Black, Campbell. Detention!’ NOOO! I shot Black a murderous glare.
‘It’s all my fault Professor. Don’t give Campbell detention.’ My murderous look changed into a look of pure surprise. Was Black seriously (no pun intended) trying to save me? Well that was unexpected.
‘No. Late is late. Now sit down and take your books out. One more word and I will take away house points.’ I sighed deeply and took my seat next to Lily, who also received one of my famous glares to which she just rolled her eyes.
‘I hate you.’ I murmured, just loud enough for her to hear.
‘Aw, I love you to. You might want to save the hate for those, though.’ She said pointing at the Marauders. This time it was my turn again to roll my eyes.

After lessons we went outside to sit in the sun. I skipped happily to the lake with the girls walking behind me. ‘Watch out Faith. You’re going to fall!’ Molly told me worriedly.
‘I won’t fa-…’ and I tripped over a small stone and fell flat on my tummy.
‘Told you so!’ I groaned and rolled over. Alice helped me up.
