Ezra's P.O.V
I rubbed my eyes and tried to stay awake. "Long night?" Sabine asked me. I blinked my eyes a couple of time to focus them more. "Maybe a little longer than I would have liked," I said. "Kid had another nightmare," Zeb said taking a bite out of his waffle.
Sabine gave me a worried look and I said, "I'm fine now, don't worry." Then the door opened and Kanan and Hera came in. "Sorry, we are a bit late," Hera said, "Chopper broke the controls in the Phantom." "I'm surprised he didn't break himself yet," Zeb muttered. "Anyways," Hera said eyeing Zeb, "We have a new mission." "What's the mission?" I asked curiously.
"It's a grab and go mission," Kanan said. "We got information from Ahsoka that this star destroyer-" a hologram of the ship popped up above the holotable, "Holds someone that we need to rescue." "Don't tell me it's Hondo," Zeb said annoyed. Hera and Kanan looked at each other before turning back to the others.
"What are you two hiding?" Sabine asked. Hera sighed then Kanan placed a hand on her shoulder. "We believe that this person is a force sensitive and has been training under an inquisitor but hasn't fallen to the dark side yet," Kanan explained. "At least, that's what our information says," Hera said unsure about the mission.
"Let's do it," Sabine says determined. "I'm in," Zeb said. "Kanan? Ezra?" Hera asked. I looked over at Kanan to see him nod then everyone looks at me. "Yeah, alright," I said smiling. "Prep for the mission," Hera said leaving towards the cockpit, "CHOPPER, YOU BETTER HAVE NOT BEEN PLAYING WITH THOSE CONTROLS!" I could hear offended beeping come from the droid and I laughed.
I followed Kanan to his room and asked, "So, you feel something is fishy about this mission?" "A bit," he replied and sat on his bed, "Be ready when we get there." "Yes master," I said but it didn't feel right saying it but I brushed it off and left to my room. I entered and hopped onto my bed to get some more sleep since I'm obviously.
*one hour later*
I woke up and went to see what the others were doing. "Everyone get ready in the cargo bay," Hera said so I headed towards the cargo bay. I saw Kanan sitting on a crate and decided to go sit next to him. "Hey," I said. "Hello Ezra," Kanan replied then laid a hand on my shoulder. I tensed a bit and he said, "Relax, I'll be there with you."
I nodded, this mission had me on the edge but I was ready for anything that was to come. Soon Sabine and Zeb joined us in the cargo bay. "Ready to bash buckets," Zeb said smirking and punching his fist into the other palm of his hand. "I'm going to knock out more than you," I said jumping off the crate with a challenging smile.
"You're on little guy," Zeb teased and I glared at him. "Are you both going to ever not challenge?" Sabine asked. "Never," me and Zeb said in sync. "Boys," Sabine muttered and we all got ready. The ramp lowered and we ran the opposite way of Sabine and Zeb.
We sneaked past a couple of bucket heads without trouble. "This seems to easy," I said, "I don't like it." "I don't either," Kanan said, "which gives us another reason to escape faster." "What's the other reasons?" I asked. "Do you want to find out?" He asked. "Not really," I said. "That's what I thought," Kanan said making me laugh a little.
Kanan smiled then we became serious again when two storm troopers saw us. "Let's see if you or Zeb wins," he said and I ignited my lightsaber. "We already know that I'm going to win," I said and tricked the troopers by shooting them with my blaster. I put my lightsaber and blaster while Kanan shook his head. "You and Zeb, I'll tell ya," he said.
"Tell me what?" I asked. "Oh nothing," Kanan said and ran off to the cell. "Hey," I said and ran off after him. We made it to the cell so I started to pick the lock. Kanan was making sure we didn't get any company. Once I got the door open, we ran inside to see a girl around my age with the same hair color as me and pale skin. She was sleeping on the cold hard floor or at least I hope she is sleeping.
Kanan threw her over his shoulder, "Come on kid." We both ran out of the cell to be met with the inquisitor. "Hello rebels, I see that you are stealing my apprentice," he said igniting his lightsaber. "Oh great, how many uglies are there now," I said. "Oh, don't worry," the inquisitor said, "I'll make you look and feel worse."
Kanan handed me the girl and said, "Go! I'll take care of him." "What about you?" I asked. "I'll be behind you," he said, "May the force be with you." I didn't like the sound of that but I said quickly, "You too." I ran. I ran from my anchor. My master. My dad. Now, I might not see him again but I have faith that Kanan will keep his promise.
I made it back to the Ghost and saw that Sabine and Zeb were there. I went to the medbay cause this girl looked like she's been through the clone wars and the results were gruesome. I ran out and went back to the cargo bay to see Kanan running and being shot at by troopers. I joined Sabine and Zeb in shooting troopers. "There is no way I'm losing to you Specter 4," I said and shot down one. "Your going to have to get better than that kid," Zeb said and shot down two troopers with one shot.
"Like shooting two troopers with one shot," Zeb said cockily and I glared. Kanan made it to the ramp and we took off. The ramp closed and the Ghost jolted into hyperspace. We went to the medbay to find Hera already there working on the girl. "Who is she?" I asked gesturing to the unconscious girl. Hera gave a nervous glance at Kanan.
"What?" Kanan asked also confused like the rest of us. "Guys" Hera said, "This is Ezra's sister, Dakota."
