Hunter crept through the shadows to get to their meeting place. He knew there were spies everywhere, but luckily, they didn't suspect Wally and Lisa... or so he hoped.

He entered the rundown building near S.T.A.R. Labs, and sat down in an old chair by the newly made fire. Wally and Lisa both standing by it.

"Hunter," Wally said, turning towards him with a grave expression on his face. "Ramon has Rylie."

Hunter stood up, his hands in tight fists as he angrily said, "No!"

"We're so sorry," Lisa said. "We tried to get to Mr. Everton before he decided to turn her in, but we were too late. She's being held in the same room you were in before Ramon started the experiment on you."

"Is she all right?" Hunter asked hastily.

Lisa and Wally glanced at each other, making Hunter's heart sink.

"She's still alive, but in bad condition," Lisa finally squeaked out. "Ramon ordered to have her tortured for information."

Hunter sat back down, putting his hands on his face. "This is all my fault."

Lisa put her hand on his shoulder. "But there's good news. Wells and Caitlin are free."

Hunter looked up again. With their help, they just might be able to free Rylie from her horrible prison.

~oOo~

I awoke again. Finally! But I felt horrible. I could hardly breathe, my head hurt like crazy, and everywhere the lizard man had injected any poison, it stung, and I could feel it beginning to swell.

They hadn't gotten anything out of me, and Mr. Rochester finally ordered his brother to stop. I could have sworn that Rochester was almost crying, but I could have just thought that, because my eyes had been full of tears.

After that, I couldn't remember anything else, but I still wanted to try and get free, no matter what condition I was in.

I tried to stand, realizing that my leg was so badly bruised that it was bleeding through my jeans. I had to stand on it. I just had to.

I used the wall for support, and stood on my better leg, feeling pain in my ribs. It was so horrible that I forced myself to sit back down.

Now I remembered. The lizard man had punched me repeatedly in the stomach, trying to make me answer his questions. Honestly, I thought that was a stupid torture method to get information. If you punch someone in the stomach, it knocks the air out of them. How can they talk?

I knew I'd heal soon, but maybe not fast enough. They might come back, and make me feel this way again, or make it worse. I had to get out sometime, very soon, if possible.

But wait. Was it? I felt that strange sensation again. I began feeling sick at my stomach. It was Caroline. She was here!

The door suddenly started steaming, and began to melt. It was the weirdest thing, but on the other side of the door was Caroline... Lee and Carter?

"Rylie!" Caroline squealed, leaping over the pile of melted metal, and pulled me into a gentle hug. "I'm so glad you're still alive! I thought you would have been killed by now."

"Almost was," I managed to say.

The two boys hopped over, checking behind them every once in a while. "We have to carry her. There's no time to wait for her to heal. Security will be here any second," Carter warned.

Caroline nodded, and let Lee come and pick me up. He held me bridle-style, and looked at me with regret in his eyes. "Rylie, I'm sorry."

I put my finger to his lips. "Save it for later. We need to get out of here."
