Mia sighed as her aunt dropped her off at school. After her summer at her grandpa's farm, school was the last place she wanted to be.
"Are you sure you'll be able to carry all of those?" She gestured to Mia's trembling figure. Her suitcases were really, really heavy. But she wasn't about to tell her aunt that.
"I'll...I'll be fine." She managed, struggling to stand while holding at least ten different suitcases. Her aunt looked skeptical, but she nodded anyway.
"I'll see you at Christmas!" She said, sliding up the window again. She pulled out of the parking lot and drove away. Mia bit her lip, struggling with her suitcases. She walked inside as fast as she could.
She was so desperate to get to her room, that she ran into someone. They both tumbled to the floor, and Mia's suitcases went flying everywhere. Thankfully, none of them fell open.
"I'm so sorry....I didn't see you there...1..." she started, before she saw who it was. "Mario?" There he was, the same Mario she had spent her past summer with. Same blond hair, same blue eyes. He grinned at her. Yep, same annoying grin, too.
"Surprise!" He exclaimed, throwing his hands in the air. One hit Mia in the face.
"Sorry." He rubbed the back of his head sheepishly.
"It's fine." she replied dismissively. "What are you doing here?" He grinned again. Mia sighed internally. That annoying grin again.
"My parents transferred me here. My mum recently got a job, so now both of my parents are working. They figured sending me to a boarding school would be easier than feeding me and taking me to school every day. I didn't know you went here." Mia rolled her eyes.
"Well now you do." she said snarkily. She grabbed all of her suitcases and was about to keep going to her and Paula's dorm, before Mario stopped.
"Here, let me." He took all of her bags. Mia just stood there for a few seconds, before Mario nudged her with his elbow.
"I'm new around here, so I kinda need you to show me where your dorm is." Mia snapped back to reality.
"Right. Let's go." Mario followed her all the way to her dorm. As soon as they got in, Paula squealed. She ran up to Mia and hugged her.
"Mia! Gosh, I've missed you over the summer! You barely wrote to me. What happened?" Then she saw Mario. "And who's this?" She leaned down and whispered into Mia's ear, adding, "He's hot." Mia rolled her eyes.
"This is Mario." Paula gasped.
"Mario? The hot guy that works at your grandpa's farm?" Mia blushed.
"He's not hot." Mia replied defensively.
"Yes he is." Paula argued.
"No he isn't."
"And I bet you like him, too!"
"I'm standing right here, you know. Where should I put these down?" Mia had almost forgotten about him.
"Sorry. Just put them down right here. Thanks." Mia pointed to her bed.
"Well, I'd best be off. The principal said I have to go to the counselor's office before the first bell to get my schedule." Mario said after he had put everything down.
"Alright, bye!" She called as he left. He hadn't even been gone five seconds before he came back in.
"Can you show me the way to her office?" He said sheepishly.
"Sure." She said, rolling her eyes. He followed her out into the hallway.
"So," He said in a low voice as they walked. "Has that bracelet of yours glowed since you left?" Mia shook her head. The last time it had glowed was at the horse-riding tournament. That was about a month ago. She had constantly been checking it since a few days ago. She had the strangest feeling that something was going to happen.
