The next morning....

Mia yawned and slowly opened her eyes, only to be greeted with the smiling face of Paula. Mia jumped and hit her head on her headboard.

"Ow!" She exclaimed, rubbing her head. "What are you doing on my bed?" Paula giggled.

"I'm sooooooo excited for today! I can't wait to see what Mario has planned." A small smile made its way onto Mia's face.

Neither could she.

----

Mia looked around for Mario as she walked to her first class with Paula.

"Where is he?" She asked, slightly irritated. "He can't miss his second day of school.

"Worried about him?" Paula asked smugly.

"Kinda." Mia muttered distractedly. Paula saw this and frowned.

"I'm sure he's fine, Mia. Now stop worrying and let's get to class before we're late." Paula quickened her pace, walking in the direction of her class. "See you at lunch!" Mia looked skeptical, but she nodded in acknowledgement, walking to her own class.

---

It was ten minutes into class, and Mario still hadn't arrived. Mia was getting restless, but she didn't know why. Why did she care whether Mario showed up to class or not? She could barely concentrate on the teacher's lecture. At some point, they started sounding like incomprehensible mumbles.

Finally, the door opened and Mario came in, and Mia did a double-take at his appearance. His hair was disheveled, his clothes were wrinkled, and his eyes had bags under them. He looked terrible. The teacher turned around and looked at him expectantly. Mario smiled sheepishly, rubbing the back of his head.

"Sorry I'm late, sir. I seem to have slept in." The teacher nodded in acknowledgement, and Mario walked over and took the empty seat beside Mia, turning to her and giving her a small smile before he turned toward the teacher who had now resumed lecturing, droning on and on about equations and shapes, his words still incomprehensible to her.

---

"I assume you all have been taking notes." The teacher said out of the blue, making Mia's head snap up. "To see if you have been paying attention, I will now give you a pop quiz. You are permitted to use your notes....if you took them." He purposefully glared at certain people in the classroom.

He passed out the quiz. Mia looked at it and immediately panicked. All of the text and drawings on the page looked foreign to her.

In triangle ABC, side AB  is congruent to side BC, and angle BAC is congruent to angle BCA. What kind of triangle is it? (A/N Comment below if you know the answer.)

There was a drawing of a triangle with small tick marks on the left and right side, and small curves drawn at both of the two bottom vertices. She looked at it and turned the paper around a few times. It looked kinda like a fat person, if the tick marks were its hands and the curves were its feet.

An obsese triangle. She wrote. She smiled, satisfied with her answer.

What is the sum of the interior angles in a pentagon? (A/N Again, comment below if you know the answer.)

Before she had time to think about it, she felt someone poke her arm. She looked to her left and saw Mario pointing at her arm. Her bracelet was glowing, and she assumed Mario's was, too. She quickly slapped a hand over it, drawing the attention of her teacher. Before he could say anything, she asked to go to the bathroom. He looked suspiciously at her arm, but allowed her to go.
