Ash's fever got worse and worse by the minute. Bonnie's eyes were covered by Clemont's warm hand. Serena was grasping onto Ash's hand as if she was his mom. Ash was sweating profusely moments after. It was almost as if he was hot in this cold, cold blizzard. She stared at him, with tears welling up in her tears. She longed for that pair of warm, auburn brown eyes staring into her own, providing comfort and warmth whenever she was upset. His hugs could brighten up anyone's day. Finally, unable to fight against it, she sobbed, letting the tears she kept in for so long to flow down her tinted pink cheeks like a waterfall. She squeezed Ash's hand harder, as her tears hit the ground, causing a mark to be left on it. Seeing this, a flashback suddenly flashed in front of her. (Get the pun?)
FLASHBACK
Sitting in the kitchen, a 7-year-old Serena was watching Pikamen on the channel, CartoonsForYou. Serena was so engrossed in it, so she didn't notice her dad slowly tip toe to the kitchen even though he was sick. Little Serena had a job of taking care of her father and to make sure that her father does not do anything dangerous. Especially cooking. Her father had enough of just sitting around like a Slaking. So, he thought of a plan to distract his "guard", Serena. Sure enough, it worked. Wanting to prove that he was just fine, he tried to cook. Unfortunately, the fever got the best of him, as he suddenly collapsed on the ground, as his grip on the pan was lifted, sending the pan flying across the kitchen. Serena heard the noise and turned around to face the kitchen. Her view was blocked by a side-wall. She spent one minute on trying to piece the pieces together. The noise......her father was gone.........AH! HER FATHER!
It was too late. By the time Serena ran over to the kitchen, she saw her father sprawled on the ground, motionless. Calling for her mother in desperate calls, she prayed that her father would be okay. Grace, Serena's mother, came rushing down at the sudden calls. Creak, creak. The stairs went as she ran down. As her feet touched the tiles of the floor, she heard sobbings from the kitchen. Running over, she saw her daughter bent over her husband's motionless body. Oh my god! She was incredibly strong for a woman, so she kneeled to the ground beside her husband's body, lifting him up slowly as she wrapped her arm around him to support him. This was the best way to get her husband to the bed. She was struggling but she saw Serena on the other side of her father, pushing at his waist, preventing him from falling. She let a small smile show on her face.
Finally, after overcoming the obstacles in the house, Grace gently laid her husband's body on the bed. Over the next few days, Serena and Grace would take turns to take care of him. Unfortunately, 2 days after the incident, Serena's father suddenly passed away. This was only one of the many traumas that happened to Serena....
FLASHBACK OVER
The situation Serena was facing now seemed to be a carbon copy of what happened before. Still crying, many REGRETS started to rush into her mind. Why did she not tell him how she felt? Why did she not do anything to help him? WHY DID SHE NOT KNOW THAT ASH RAN OUT?! If she knew, Ash probably wouldn't be in this situation. She blamed herself over and over again. Suddenly, she felt a pair of arms wrapped around her wrist and a hand placed on her shoulder. She turned around and saw Bonnie hugging her while Clemont was flashing her a comforting smile. Bonnie and Clemont were so capable on comforting people. In her opinion anyways. Suddenly, she felt a new rush of determination flow through her. Like a certain raven-haired boy said....
