"What happened?"
Those words pricked Ash slowly as he realized that he had no idea how he got in this state. Could it be amnesia? No way, he can still remember them and his own name right? So why is it that he doesn't know what happened beforehand?
"Ash?" Serena looked at him, concerned as Ash looked up at her. "I-I can't remember what happened before..." Ash muttered to himself as if he didn't want them to hear that. Clemont's eyes widened at the sound of that and Bonnie didn't believe that Ash had said that.
To say that Serena was worried is an understatement. She was shivering slightly, not from the cold, but the fact that they wouldn't know who did THIS to Ash. She was very sure Ash wasn't sick that day and he wasn't one who easily succumbed to the cold, so how he got a fever? She might never know.
Maybe he did get a fever from the cold but Serena can't help but wonder, what if someone did this to him? How they did it? She's not even sure herself. 'Snap out of it! Ash is just fine, you don't have to pressure him to answer!' Serena thought as she said, "Ash, take your time. You can tell us whatever you remember whenever you feel comfortable, okay?" She let a smile grace her features and Ash couldn't help but smile back and say, "Okay! Thanks!"

"Ash..." Clemont said as they were packing everything up. "Hmm?" Ash replied as he turned to face Clemont who had a worried expression on his face. "Ash..about your loss...are you truly okay about it?" Clemont had to ask. If he didn't, Ash might get depressed...Ash wasn't one who would get depressed so if he did...it would have been very serious.
"Mm hmm! I'm going to train harder and beat the gym leader!" Ash replied as determination burned in his eyes and he fist bumped the air. "Great! I'll do all I can to help!" Clemont said as he grinned, starting to think of what inventions he could make to help Ash.
Little did he know...
Ash was lying to him.
