Chapter Ⅰ:
Author in Distress

"Emilia! Can I get a picture?"
I smiled. "Sure, honey."
She took out her phone and I stuck my out. She giggled and did it as well. A flash showed that she had taken the picture.
"Oh my gosh! Thank you!"
The cheerful girl said. "Anytime." I casually said. She skipped away.
I loved my fans; they were some of the most gleeful fans ever, well besides the Glee fans. That's their job.
I walked to the lobby of my apartment building. "Hey Todd." I said, waving to the bellboy. He waved back. "Hey Dora." I greeted the receptionist.
"Oh m'gosh! Em! Hi!"
I heard a very accented voice yell. I turned around to see who it was. I just saw a tall red-headed woman.
I recognized who it was quickly. Piper Reed, my best friend from high school. "Piper!" I ran up to her and hugged her. I wore high heels, so I was her height.
"How have you been, babe?" She said with a vaguely Scottish accent. "Great! You?" I enthusiastically said. "Absolutely fantastic!" I nodded.
"Come up to my penthouse!" She happily agreed.

The elevator ding'd and the doors slid open. "Welcome to Casa de Grey."
"Nice, really nice." She said, smiling.
I walked over to the long sofa, let myself drop, and patted the spot next to me.
Her oxfords tapped along the linoleum floor.

I sat down and asked Em what was going on in the book world. She said,"To be honest, it's hell for me." My eyebrows furrowed. "Why?"
"Because, I promised to write a book about romance and I don't know a thing about it!" She groaned, obviously frustrated.
I rolled my eyes. "How d'you not know about romance?" Em just shrugged. I sighed, throwing my head back. I rubbed my temples and asked her, "When's the deadline for this promised book?"
"Nine months." She said rapidly and then squinted. I tried to keep calm. "Okay, so you're telling me you have no idea what romance is and you have nine months to write it!" I yelled. She flinched. "Geez, you're like my mother or some shit." She grumbled. "I heard that." I hissed.
I laughed and then Em joined in. "Look at us, arguing like old times." I said while trying to stop my laughter.
We stopped and just waited until our breathing normalized.

Hey. How have you been? It's been a month or so since I've updated this beaut.
Okay, I'm imagining Piper Reed as Karen Gillan. I am so tired right now. I wrote this on February 15th. And it's 11:16 at night.
Goodnight, beauties.
Love, V
