Chapter III:

Cute Guy Over There

Emilia Grey

Piper drove absolutely hectic. I don't know how she ever received a license in the state of New York. But she did.

The small designer store was just a few blocks away from my penthouse. I never knew getting a concussion was possible in the span of a few minutes, but with Piper, anything was possible.

We finally jolted to a stop. My phone almost slipped out of my fingers.

"We are here!" Piper joyfully sing-songed. "I can tell!" I replied in the exact tone. Piper opened her door and I could hear her heels clicking against the rocky cement of the parking lot. I went on after her. My shoes didn't make any noise and I was a bit upset.

I ran ahead of Piper and opened the door. The little bells jingled.

"Thank you, Emi." She gratefully said. "No problem." I smiled. We stepped in and the cashier greeted us. But, it was in a monotone and she had an extremely bitchy face.

We saw lots of women in their 30s and 40s. Barely any women in their mid twenties. There was one man. But he looked younger. Like, he looked twenty or twenty-one. Maybe even in his teens!

He wasn't an exactly ugly man, he was attractive. He had a long face, but he wasn't exactly sad. His jawline wasn't sculpted. His cheekbones were. His blue eyes and full lips were the things that reeled me in.

I noticed I was basically gaping at him because Piper nudged me saying, "He's cute, ain't he?" I quickly looked at her. "What, who was staring at that cute guy? Not me." I tried telling her I wasn't staring at him.

"Oh please, you were staring at him for five minutes, for fucks' sake!" She whispered. "Really?" I tucked a strand of hair behind my ear. I felt my cheeks burning.

Oh god, I thought, what a great impression on him. I looked back to where he was standing and he was looking at me, smiling.

Oh my Jesus, he's looking!

I grabbed Piper's flimsy arm and pulled her with me. I took her over to the dress section. We hid inside the prom dresses.

"Ow, Grey, you're hurting me!" Piper whined. I quickly shushed her. "That cute guy over there noticed me and I'm kind of freaking out!"

"Kind of?! You're red as a strawberry!"

"Why a strawberry? Why not a tomato?" I wondered aloud, getting off topic. "Because you have freckles as they represent the seeds," She paused, "anyway, stop getting off topic!"

Her eyes widened and she instantly had a grin on her face.

Oh no, she has an idea.

"Maybe he is a fan!"

"You don't know that, but maybe he is." I said, slightly doubting her insane yet realistic idea. I turned to look at where he was standing and he vanished. I looked around to see if he was still in the store. And the second I glanced, I caught his gaze.

But he seemed to get closer every second.

He was approaching me, oh sweet Jesus.

Hey my sweet baby dragons. I don't know where that came from but it did.
