We work for a lady named Shiva Lancaster. That's all any of us know. She has a separate militia-more serious guys. Their job is to fight off the red coats and spandex for territorial control. Within those territories are resources. Miners-the only other job in the NC-who don't have their matrix registered in the rebirth used to go at it alone when mining. Then, when the TR scum and Vanu freaks came in guns blazing those miners were subject to be killed or capture with no one to protect them.
The business executives figured, "since we're losing profit, paying more and more people who die, leading to low Auraxium yields cashed to the NS, we can maximize our profits by paying double for guards, but if our miners aren't dying, we can cash in way higher yields."
I'm sitting here like "no shit geniuses." And that is what they did. At least most of them. Shiva took us from the action and made us babysitters.
Why didn't the miners just get the rebirth and a Gauss Rifle? You ask. Many reasons.
1) Nanite Systems Regulations states under Section 103.23.02 "No civilians of a sovereign faction may participate in open warfare, having registered in the rebirthing system, for economic means." It's kinda ironic in a lot of ways cause TR, if in need of reinforcements, will jettison entire neighborhoods into the battlefield. Our guys are not the only skeletons littered across Auraxis. Then with the VS, they technically don't have an army, just volunteer fighters that works and is funded like a military.
2) Our citizens aren't killers or action junkies. They are simply hardworking family men and women trying to make an honest buck. They can't handle this war, cause it'll either mess you up or make you invincible.
Anyways, sidetracked. Our security force is comprised of 25 soldiers in charge of protecting 100-200 or so miners. Their job is to mine Cortium, Auraxium, and a sort of Bio Metal to produce Nanites using the ANT vehicle on the surface and huge subsurface mines they've dug across the continent.
