You know that part in Looney Toons where the RoadRunner lures the coyote to the edge of the cliff and the coyote is just chilling out in the air all fine and dandy? Then he makes the mistake of looking down and Boom! He is falling to his death.I am the coyote.
Except instead of a Roadrunner leading me to my doom, it was my own foolishness. Why did I ever think that cutting away the strings that were suspending me up in the air was a good idea? My mom was right when she said I needed common sense.
I looked down at the ground that was rushing towards me with crazy speed.
My mind went haywire. "I am going to die." and "Oh my gosh, I am going to die!" were the two main thoughts going through my head. At one point I thought, "I don't even know the name of the place I will die in!"
I shut my eyes tightly waiting for the moment of impact.
It never came.
A strong breeze rushed against me and I was shoved harshly onto a sturdy tree branch near by.
"What the--?" A finger was gently pressed upon my lips, and a wink was thrown my way.
"Missed me, Sweetheart?"
