"Gah!" Flashes of my brother coughing up blood, ran through my mind. I was screaming for him to run for it as the men hit him. I fumbled for my gun. I raised it, about to make the death blow to my brothers assailant when a man hit my temple with the handle of his desert eagle.
I winced in pain and fell to the ground. The last of my brother I saw was him getting knocked unconscious.
"No!" I yelled, sitting upright, immediately from where I was laying. Where was I? Did Sterling get me? Ow my shoulder hurts... what happened to me?
I sat there racking my brain for answers when I finally remembered. The bullet flew through Eliot's chest and into my shoulder.
Shit.
Wait... Did they get to me?
I slowly got up. I looked down at my clothes and saw that I was wearing a black Vneck t-shirt, for some reason, dark skinny jeans, my purple vans, my hair was everywhere and not a trace of blood was found on my body.
I took in my surroundings and found I was in a small bedroom with only a bed and a nightstand. The clock read 5:29 PM.
Quietly, I make many way across the light coloured hardwood floor, to the thick black door, twisting the silver handle and creeping into the hall. After silently closing the door, I hear voices down the hall. I slowly go down there and as soon as I enter, five heads turn to face me.
"Oh, she's up," Sophie said, quietly. I sort of froze in my tracks, not knowing what to do.
"It's okay, you can trust us," Nate said, calmly.
"Easy for you to say. She didn't punch you!" Eliot exclaimed.
"Trust is a rather strong word, don't y'all think?" My eyes narrowed slightly. I simply can't trust anyone. I haven't for a long time. Samson was an exception. He is- well was my brother after all.
"Just come here," Nate said, slightly frustrated. I rolled my eyes and made my way over to them, even if I'm not sure it's completely safe. I sat next to Parker on the long black couch.
"....What? W-why is she staring at me..." I asked, slightly creeped out by Parker's never ending stare directed towards me.
"She tends to do that.... She's harmless," Hardison reassured. I nodded in return.
"So uh... why am I here....?"
"Well, after we saw you were shot, and Eliot was too, we couldn't leave you to die so we brought you here to stay until you get tired of us," Sophie explained with a soft smile.
I nodded slowly. "Well, all my stuff is at my place and I know for a fact Sterling has his idiots there waiting for me."
"Well make sure you'll get your stuff, don't worry. Eliot can go with you-"
"No." Eliot firmly interrupted.
"You're going with her, end of discussion Eliot," Nate growled. Eliot shot both of us glares.
"Let's just go and get this over with."
He got up and motioned for me to follow him. I followed him out the door and we began to walk down the sidewalk.
"Hardison already got your address," he mumbles.
"Not creepy at all..." I whisper.
"That's just what he does," he said. instead of answering, I just nod, not wanting to make this any more uncomfortable.
We continued walking until we got to our destination. We stealthily ran around to the back and looked up at the top window: the only way in way two stories high.I looked at him and then at his chest. He had been shot recently and I couldn't let him boost me up. It could hurt his wound.
When he raised an eyebrow, silently asking if I need help. I shyly shook my head as if to say "no" and took a few steps back. After taking a deep breath and making a running jump, I jumped up and the first window sill. The first floor windows were about six feet up in the air, so yeah, it's a work out.
Using my flexibility, I swung my legs up and got in a standing position on the window sill. I jumped to the right about a good 5 feet to the trellis beside the window and latched on. I released a breath I didn't know I was holding and let out a tiny relieved smile. I made my decent up to the next window and lept over, barely grabbing the sill.
I climbed in and looked around. Everything was scattered. Jerks. I let out a frustrated sigh and walked to my closet grabbing my duffel bag. I packed as much as I could fit, but only what I really needed. That, including an old picture of Samson, Jennifer and I.
I put the strap over my shoulder and sent to the window. I started to climb out when my bedroom door burst open. I guess you could say I was hanging onto the sill with my feet against the house in a Spiderman like pose when I made the long jump to the ground below.
"Oomph!" I landed on my side.
"What!? What is it!? Why did you-?" He started asking. He suddenly stopped when a man looked out my window.
"You! Guys we got her!" the man yelled.
"Oh crap..." Eliot pulled me up and grabbed my bag as men came around the house. We started running as fast as we could.
"Jensen! Stop!" I heard someone yell and that only made me run faster.
"Come on!" I pulled him through an alleyway, and we shimmied our way through, barely fitting.
We stood there, fearing to even so much as so much breathe. When we heard a lot of footsteps run by, we peaked our heads out to look around. Once he thought it was safe enough, he slowly pulled me out.
"Damn...." I muttered.
"You're attracted to trouble aren't you!?" Eliot growls.
"You're no different, Eliot."
"Oh I am MUCH different."
I roll my eyes, not wanting to argue with him right now. "What's your problem anyway?"
"Oh shut the hell up Ryann. If anything, you're my problem," he hissed. I growl under my breath and walk faster.
"Next time I'll just leave you there and let them shoot you all to death."
We continued waking in silence. I looked at how the buildings' windows reflected my reflection like mirrors, the wind blowing slightly as we walk quietly through the strangely deserted streets. I grip my bag tighter when I hear footsteps behind us.
I turn around and see the man from my room at a frighteningly close distance. I slammed Eliot into the wall before he could even know what caught my attention.
I looked him dead in the eyes as I spoke, "Run. I'll be back, just go!" I shoved my bag into him and I ran the direction we came from, the man disappearing. I glace back and Eliot had gotten out of his confused daze and ran.
I look around quickly, wondering where the hell the man went.
I saw so many shadows... Which one was him?
'Wait, why am I even looking for him? Shouldn't I be running?' I thought to myself. Without another thought, I took off running after Eliot. Right after I did, I heard feet ruining behind me. I ran and ran, the volt air burning my lungs as I did, the leaves crunching underneath my feet every time they hit the ground.
I felt a hand wrap around my waist, another around my mouth and someone pulled me into another alleyway and jerked me behind the dumpster. I whipped around and had them against the wall with my knife at their throat in a matter of seconds.
"Eliot?!" I whisper yelled at the person, releasing my grip. He shoves me against the wall and the next thing I heard was his fists connecting with someone. I watched as Eliot beat the man half to death, before he grabbed my arm and ran.
'Well damn' I thought as we ran back as fast as humanly possible.
