Chapter 9: Four Robots!!!
**********************************************************************************************
**********RECAP*************
He suddenly froze, his eyes becoming cold. He said to me in hushed tones, "We may not want to hurt you, but that guy might."
I followed his eyes over my shoulder, since I was no longer pushed up against a cabinet. There, right in front of the door, stood a short, stocky man with beady black eyes.
He grinned evilly. "I've been looking for you, sweetie."
*****************************
Kaleb and I were frozen in our spots, looking at this man. He really was scary. He had an extremely deep voice, as expected from a man like him. This was how all those movies went, right? Girl gets kidnapped. Becomes friends with kidnapper. Meets kidnapper's boss. Get's into loads of trouble.
Dies.
I shivered. No way in heck was I gonna die because of this short yet scary man. Even if his vocal chords sounded like an old walrus.
His voice reminded me of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone mixed together. They both have voices deeper than the Pacific ocean.
Was that a weird comparison?
"What do you want?" Kaleb asked the short man.
"Ah, you know what I want. The girl, of course. Jenn? Jaz? What was it?" He looked at me, saying with his deep voice, "Oh, yes. Jess." He cackled evilly. Honestly, the guy was pretty dang creepy, but he didn't scare me. It was really hard to scare me, and some guy as tall as an M&M isn't gonna do it.
OH SWEET JESUS I FORGOT HE IS THE ONE THAT WANTS TO TORTURE ME. Cue mental face palm.
"Why do you need me?" He sobered up at my question, not laughing anymore.
"Oh, sweetie. So naive." He looked at me with fake care, before smirking. And not that cute smirk I love to see on Tyler's face. Nope. But a scary I'm-gonna-pee-in-my-pants kind of smirk. "You are going to help me."
There were so many questions running through my brain faster than a cheetah let out of the zoo. But seeing the look on Kaleb's face, I decided that I should keep my big mouth closed.
For now.
Seriously, where do I get these thoughts when there is a freaky little dude standing in front of me?
"How?"
"Stop asking questions. You aren't the boss around here!" I rolled my eyes. Could he be any more cliche? I mean, the "You aren't the boss" thing shows up in every kidnapping movie.
"And... What do you want me to do?"
"Oh, so you are ready? I thought you were emotionally unstable from all those times you cried in front of your oh-so-special Tyler." He spat out Ty's name like it was venom in his mouth. I clenched my fists. I cried in front of Tyler because I trusted him enough to show my true colors. Yet, in the end, he broke my heart.
