The rest of the day I continuously had flashbacks of the war. It was hard to travel when you repeatedly see people die in front of you. It was the next day that it had finally stopped. I had no longer seen my friends die, it gave some relief.
I had to return to the case today. Me and Macy had been doing some research after I left moms house. She had seen what was happening and had asked me to go to the hospital, but I refused. I was too focused on the case to worry about my health.
I had put on my uniform and drove to the police station. Macy had waited for me to arrive. She walked up to my car and opened my door.
"Everything alright since last night Max?" She asked.
"Yeah, lets just get to work on this case before it starts happening again," I replied.
We had walked to the police cruiser and started our patrol. I had watched cars go by as we sat in the car, waiting for something that could further the case.
We had waited for hours for something exciting. It was 10:00AM and a strange looking man walked by wearing a leather coat. Something felt odd about the man, then I saw the tattoo on the back of his neck. It was the same symbol as the one on the crates.
I got out of the car and walked towards the man.
"Hey you, hold up," I said to the man.
He had saw me and began to run. Macy and I had chased him down the street. We passed through large crowds until he ran through an alley that came to an end. I had slowly started to walk towards him.
"Why were you running?" I asked with a smile.
"I ain't telling you nothin," he answered.
"We will see about that," I replied.
I had placed handcuffs on him and took him to the car. He had struggled and fought to get away from me but I continued to drag him to the car. We had taken him back to the police station for interrogation. They wouldn't let me in to speak with the suspect because they were afraid I would end up trying to kill him.
Macy had walked out with a file in hand. She had wrote down the strongest evidence she received to be able to continue our investigation on this gang. We had taken the information straight to the chief.
He had read all the information and approved our request for further investigation. Now all I had to do was get accepted into the gang. I had planned it would be just me who would go undercover, no matter how badly Macy wanted to go with me.
It was the next day that I had drove my car to the gang warehouse. I hadn't wore my police uniform for obvious reasons of course, Instead I wore all black. When I arrived I had my hood up on my head and I walked into the warehouse. Two guards, both wolves, had stopped me.
"No tourists pal, this is private property," the gray wolf said.
"I'm not here to tour, I'm here to make an offer," I said.
"Follow me, I'll take you to the leader," the gray wolf said.
I had followed the two wolves to what seemed like an office on the second floor. A taller wolf, male I presumed, sat behind the desk in the dark. His eyes seemed to glow through the darkness. He pointed to a chair which I had began to sit in and slowly he began to speak.
"What is your business here?" He had asked, his rough and deep voice reaching out to me.
"I am here to make an offer," I said.
"And what might that be?" He asked.
"A small payment for my services, I'm requesting to become a part of your operation," I said sternly.
"What do you have that could be useful to our operation?" He had asked, seeming more interested.
"Strength, intelligence, I could provide many uses," I replied.
"Military?" He asked
"Yes sir, 7 years," I answered.
"I'll see what I can do, in the meantime you best make your way out, I'm very busy," he said.
"Thank you," I said as I walked out.
I had went back to my car and drove to the police station. When I arrived I went to Macy's desk, hoping she was still there but she wasn't. I began to wonder where she went, then the chief walked up to me.
"Max, I got a report of some kind of disturbance on Main Street, care to check it out?" He asked.
"Alright I'm on it," I replied.
I ran to my police car and started towards Main Street. The address he gave me sounded like Macy's apartment. I began to speed down the road. I hoped she was alright.
