My Alpha

Chapter 4: Katie O'Connell

Someone yanks my arm and pulls me into the forest. "Dad!? What are you doing here?" I ask. "I was just about to ask you the same thing." He says. His eyes glow red. "How could you!? You let a werewolf you barley knew save you!" My dad screamed at me. It's true, I barely know her, but I do know one thing... She's about to become the Alpha. "Dad she's not bad I met her fam..." "She took you to her home! Katie! She could've easily killed you!" My dad hollers. He starts to beat me holding on to my left arm still. "Dad stop please!" I shout. I hear the bushes rustle. He lifts me up and he stares into my pale green eyes. "Hey! Leave her alone!" I hear someone shout. My dad looks at her and bares his fangs. "Run Ashlyn! Run!" I scream. Why isn't she turning into her wolf form?
     "I can't leave you Katie! You were my best friend I can't leave you behind." She shouts. My dad whips me to the ground and I wince from the pain. He goes to attack her until a bright light rips through the woods and a piercing howl is heard. She... she did it! She is now the Alpha. I watch in astonishment as she changes into her Alpha form. She hurts my dad severely then walks to me. "We have a dance to get to." She says extending her hand and bowing. I take her hand and we walk back to her home. "I'm sorry about your dad, I just couldn't let him hurt you and live with myself knowing I didn't help." She says bowing her head. I look up at her and smile.
Once at her home a song starts to play and she extends her hand to me. I gladly take it and we dance to the song. Her sky blue eyes sparkle in the lights. I like her blue eyes better than the gold ones, they're prettier like that. Towards the middle of the song I lean my head in the crook of her neck. I realize now that she is the one that I feel the most safe with. We dance until the song ends and then she hugs me. "Katie, I'm glad you agreed to come here." She says eyes still sparkling and a small smile on her face.
