Chapter 6: A Secret.

Feeling alone, Wren walked over to her balcony she opened the double doors. Realizing it was warm she took off her sweater. She couldn't help feeling down, ever since she had been a little girl she knew something was up. And now she knew, but she decide not to tell anyone she couldn't or she would have to pay. It would spread to fast, words at there school were spread like wild fires. She trusted her friends but knew they couldn't do anything to keep it in.

"Are you feeling okay?" Her mother was always the one to worry.

"Im fine, thank you." She lied she hated ling to her parents, she was the only child with made this even more devastating.

"Honey I think you should lie down." Her father walked in the room.

"Whats happening? Wren are you alright?" This is what she hated, her parents worried too much. She was fine wait, no she wasn't. She couldn't lie to herself about this.

"Okay, okay. Ill so rest for a while"

As she walked up to her room she could hear her parents voices coming up through the vents.

"Shes gonna die."

"No she wont." Her fathers voice sounded so hopeful.

"I wont let her." Those encouragement words almost made her cry.

She was going to die and no one could help it. She thought about medicine but that wouldn't work. She couldn't help thinking about what her parents would do if she did die. Would they get too sad and become depressed? Would they shrug it off like nothing ever happened? She didn't want to think of that, instead she needed to think of a way to keep it from her friends.

"Hey Wren." Ray was always there for her and she wanted to tell him so badly.

"Hey." She walked up to him and gave him a kiss on the cheek.

"You okay? You look a little pale." He had such a worried look ok his face, she needed to tell him. But how?

"Im fine, how are you? You look sad."

He glanced around.

"Come with me." He grabbed her by the hand and led her to the abandon staircase, only to find out it was being occupied.

"Caylen and Charlie? I thought that was just a one night stand." Caylen turned her head, and Charlie stopped kissing her.

"Oh hey Wren... Do you need this staircase?" Rays whole face flushed and looked at Charlie.

"Uh, no were good, thanks."

What the hell was that? I thought Charlie was gay, Ray couldn't help thinking to him self They headed to a different place, the bathroom. There was an old bathroom that no one used and was some guys graffiti canvas.

"Look we need to talk." Ray had tears rushing down his face.

"Whats wrong? What happened?"

Ray was full out crying now, he was sobbing. Wren leaned in closer, and gave him a hug. He needed her warm embrace.

"Ray, you need to tell me whats wrong." Ray was so helpless he felt like a little puppy in her arms. This was not the Ray that was a player, he was a sensitive guy.

"My dad passed away." His father had always been close to him in ways you couldn't imagine. He lived with father, his mother was a crackhead and was in jail for possession of crack, weed and other things that he didn't talk about.

Wren knew she couldn't tell Ray about her now, it wasn't about her it was about him.

"Oh baby, I'm so sorry." She didn't know what to do.

"Can I stay at your place?" He had those big eyes that made it hard to say no. Plus, it was only him he wasn't ready to live on his own.

"Of course you can." Ray was going to stay at her place for about 2 weeks.

Wren got a headache it felt as if her brain was swelling and was too big for her head. It hurt to open her eyes but she had to finish out school. She could go to the nurse? She knew it wouldn't help, he would call her parents and her parents would spill. She didn't wantAnyone to know her secret, it was too personal too horrifying. She didn't know how she could even live with herself, she realized she was sitting still in Mr.Lee's class. Ugh.

What is going to happen to me? To Ray? Will I really not make it to have kids or a husband? She didn't know.
