Ray was in Wrens arms when her father walked in the room.

"Time for supper." He looked uncertain at Ray then looked at Wren shocked, he had tears streaming down his eyes.

"Are you two okay?" He looked uneasy at Wren.

"Were fine, well be there in a minute." Her father nodded and backed out of the room.

At supper they had Wrens favorite, mashed potatoes with pork and Green beans. It was so good and Ray seemed to enjoy it too.

"So how was school?" Her mother asked looking up from her plate.

"Good, I guess you could say." Her mother looked up from her plate and looked at Ray.

"Whats wrong?" Ray looked up from his plate and looked at her mother.

"My dad died." He looked back down at his plate.

"Actually thats what I was going to talk to you about, can Ray stay here just for a few weeks?" Her mother looked at her father.

"I think it would be okay, what about your mother? Where is she?" Rays face got red.

"I-I don't know she left when i was a baby." Lacey, her mom looked up. You could tell she felt bad.

"Oh Im sorry, I didn't mean-"

"Its fine." He cut her off and finished his meal. Wren had a slight headache she figured he could sleep in her room and she would sleep on the couch.

In the morning her head had hurt and her sides were aching, could this have anything to do with it?

"Mom, Dad My head hurts and my side are aching." Her parents looked worried. Ray was still asleep and it was a Saturday.

"Maybe we should go to the doctor?" Casey suggested.

"I don't know but it hurts." She kneeled over and held her stomach. Her parents gasped and knelt to her side.

"Don't worry honey were going to take you to the hospital."

"William." Lacey called to her husband.

"Go get Ray ill take her to the hospital." William rushed up the stairs and called for Ray.

At the hospital she was tooken to the emergency room.

"Does she have any sickness, asthma?"

"She was being watched for cancer."

Ray gasped and looked at Wren, she looked back at him with tears in her eyes.

Her secret was out.

"She cant have cancer, she cant!"

The doctor was at the phone.

"Yes, we have a patient thats being watched for cancer. We need the specialist." He sounded calm, how could he be calm at a time like this?

"Whats going to happen?"

Lacey looked at him.

"I think it would be best if you waited in the waiting room."

"N-no, I need to be here for her." Ray had bags under his eyes. The doctor came back with 2 more people in white lab coats at his side. They layed her down in a bed and wheeled her out.

"Where are they going?"

"Look, Ray you need to wait in the waiting room. This is none of your concern." Ray looked astonished"

"None of my concern? Wren has been there for me more times that one. I need to be there for her now."

William looked at him and sighed.

"Very well, but one wrong move and your out." Ray nodded and followed them out of the room. They brought her to a room where she was going to be tested on. They hooked her up to a big machine they had a mouth piece, her parents look watching her mother with tears to the brim of her eyes. They took blood and a urn test, they examines her eyes and breathing.

The doctor came back with a clipboard and a worried look, Ray was the first one up and standing in front of the doctor.

"So? Whats wrong?"

The doctor went around him and looked headed toward Lacey and William. Ray was pissed off now but knew better not to do anything.

"Im afraid she has cancer. Were going to keep her over night of theres anything she needs like pills, I suggest you go home and get them now."

"She doesn't need anything." William said tears traveling down his face.
