Louis and Freddie:

"Bye mom, I'll see you in a few weeks."

"Bye, bud" Briana said as she hugged her son. When she pulled back from the hug, she looked up at him in amazement.

"What is it, mom?" Freddie asked in confusion.

"I just still can't get over how tall you are. I thought you'd end up short like your dad." Briana shot a pointed look over to Louis who was standing behind his son and chuckled.

"Now's not the time for your jokes, Briana, we can't miss our flight" Louis shot back.

"Yeah, we should get going" Freddie agreed. "Bye mom."

"Bye Fred. Have fun and be safe."

"I will, but don't call me Fred" Freddie said as he rolled his eyes at his mom.

"Well, I definitely won't miss that teenage attitude of yours" Briana replied with a smirk.

"Hey, dad was worse than me when he was my age."

"I wouldn't doubt it." Briana said more to herself than anyone.

"Bye love. I want you back in one piece, you hear?"

"Yeah mom, I know. Bye."

"I'm ready to go, Dad" Freddie said as he turned toward him.

A look of confusion soon crossed his face. "Where'd he go?" Freddie wondered aloud.

In response, Freddie heard the car horn honk. He ran toward the car and jumped in. "Ok, I'm ready. Let's go find the love of your life again, dad"

"This is a family trip, son." Louis said simply.

"Exactly." Freddie looked directly at his dad and through their eye contact they made a silent agreement.

Eleanor:

"Mummy, can we take Bruce on a walk in the park?"

"Sure, that's a good idea, Cassie. Let me just finish up a few things and then we can go" Eleanor replied.

"I can't believe how old Bruce is. You must've gotten him ages ago!" Cassie said with a chuckle.

"Yeah, it was a while ago...sometimes it seems like a lifetime ago"

Eleanor looked over at Bruce and suddenly the memories came back from when she first saw him. ...

{Louis and Eleanor were at the pound walking past aisles of dogs in cages trying to decide which one to buy. After about an half hour of not being able to decide, Eleanor slowly walked by a cage with a labra doodle puppy staring at her and raising his paw up to rest on the cage.

"Hi there little puppy, how are you?" Eleanor asked the dog

Louis chuckled as he said "Well I guess you have found one then."

"Yeah Louis I really like this one. He's really cute and sweet."

"Ok, love, we can buy him. He will be our dog."}

"Mum, are you ready to go?"

Eleanor shook her head and snapped out of her precious memories.

"Yeah honey let's go" she replied to her daughter.

It took about fifteen minutes to reach Regents Park where Eleanor and Cassie loved to take Bruce for a walk. The scenery was beautiful with lots of grass for him to roam and on a normal day the park was not crowded.

As Eleanor and Cassie were taking a leisurely walk in the park, Eleanor's eyes wandered around to see the different people out and about. A dad threw a ball to his son, a girl and a boy jumped rope, a young couple strolled by holding hands, and then something caught her eye.

A young man ran up to a middle-aged man sitting on a bench, who looked like he was lost in thought. Eleanor was just close enough to hear what the young man said and although she wasn't sure why, she stopped near a tree and eavesdropped.

"Dad, I just ran three miles, and you're still just sitting there? Why haven't you looked for her yet?" Freddie asked.

"I guess I just got caught up in some old memories, son. We used to go to this park a lot to walk our dog, and well I wish I could get those times back" Louis' voice trailed off.

As soon as Eleanor heard Louis' voice she recognized it. She gasped quietly and quickly covered her mouth, hoping no one heard. Thankfully the two lads were too engrossed in their conversation to hear her, so she walked past and went to find Cassie playing with Bruce in the grass.
