"Wake up you lazy girl!", Christine yelled at me. "Hurry up and get the meals ready!" I watched as she slammed the door shut to my small room.

I groaned and pulled my blanket over my face. It was the same routine with her every day: she would scream at me, leave, and I would get ready.

Christine may have been my mother, but that meant little to her. It didn't matter to her if I was her only daughter; she had Max, my older brother, who was going to become Alpha in two days. In comparison to him, I was a disgrace.

My father told me that Christine had been very disappointed when she found out that I was going to be a girl. Christine had only ever wanted boys, and you can guess her reaction when they told her I was to be a girl. I had also been gifted with being able to shape-shift, which was just another reason for her to hate me.

Yup, that's right, I was one of the three girls in my pack that could shape-shift into a wolf. Christine had always dreamed of being able to shift, but she was never gifted with it; hence the dislike towards me.

Max always fought with my mother about treating me fairly, and in the end, he always got back into her good graces. As for me... well, let's just say I wasn't that easily forgiven. She would always accuse me of trying to ruin the bond she shared with my brother.

Getting out of bed proved to be a much harder task than I had expected, but eventually I succeeded in doing so. I started to head to the shower when my bedroom door burst open. I turned towards the noise and saw a tall, menacing guy standing at the door. The combination of his dirty blonde hair and sea green eyes was quite enticing, but at the moment I really wasn't feeling it. It wasn't really him I was angry at; I was more pissed off that I was about to go shower and he decided to barge right on in.

"Um, hello? You knock before entering someone's room. That's why there's a door. If I'd wanted you to barge in I would've left it open." I paused for a moment and glared at him. "I could've been naked. That might not be a big deal to some people, but I could take you to court for that." I crossed my arms over my chest, waiting for the guy to catch a hint and leave, but he continued to stand there like a brooding moron. His nostrils flared, I wondered if he was sniffing the air. "Hello? Are you going to get out or am I going to have to force you to leave? I'm not that strong, but I can and will kick you out."

He continued doing whatever the hell he was doing earlier, almost as if he was tuning me out. I finally decided that he'd wasted enough of my time, hell, I didn't even have time to shower at that point! I walked over to the guy and slapped him; It seemed to snap him out of the trance-like state he was in. "OW!" He yelled out, "WHAT THE HELL WAS THAT FOR?!"

"It was for your stupidity and lack of comprehension. Good day to you, sir." I pushed him out of my room and slammed the door on his face. I'd already wasted enough time so I threw on the first thing I saw in my closet, tied my hair into a ponytail and put on some black flats before heading downstairs.

As I reached for the doorknob of the kitchen, I was smashed into the face of the door. I'm pretty sure that I broke something in my face. I crumbled onto the floor, halfway unconscious.

"Wow. Could you be anymore of an idiot?", I heard the snarky voice of the perpetrator. I tried to stand up, but the moment I was on my own two feet, I felt woozy. God, was I really about to throw up? I tried my best to brush myself off and make sure to not look behind me.

"Hello, are you listening or are you deaf too?" They gripped my shoulder and spun me around. This was not doing wonders for my stomach. "Don't ignore me, you pathetic bitch." She spat near my feet.

The first thing I noticed were her eyes, I knew those cruel baby blues. The girl standing in front of me was none other than Stephanie. Of course I had to run into her! My day was just getting better and better. I should've recognized her voice, but it was different than I remembered. I held back my urge to say, 'Finally hit puberty, Stephanie?'.
