Review.
"I know you're there, come out you cowards." I growl, twigs snap and I see three men, all of which I know. Lance Corporal Levi Ackerman, Commander Erwin Smith, and Commander Keith Shadis. Three men that are not meant to be toyed with.

"You have a sharp tongue, brat." The Corporal says in a monotone voice, I froze and held my breath. He was stunning, I growl and regain my composure.

"Could say the same to you, Corporal, but I'm not as bratty as you." I say with a smirk, my composure returning quickly. He growls in anger, and goes to lunge at me but Erwin stops him.

"At least Levi doesn't talk back to a commanding officer." Erwin states, I hold my tongue remembering my mom saying to listen to every word the Commander and Corporal said. Levi looks at me with a glare, and I glare back. "Your mother was Lila Hanson am I right?" He asks, my heart clenches and I salute Erwin, Levi, and Keith, my hands sticky with blood and starting to throb in pain.

"Yes, sir." I say holding my head high, even if it hurt like hell on the inside.

"Did you know she was one of the Scouts Cadet Hanson?" My eyes widen in surprise, I blink several times and then hide my emotions again.

"No, sir." I state, Levi clicks his tongue and I glare at him.

"Why do you want to be in the Survey Corps, Cadet?"

"I don't want to be, I am going to be in the Survey Corps, the reason why is because the innocent are being killed when they deserve to live, I want to help defend the innocent, and try to free humanity. Even if it kills me, sir." I look at Erwin, his eyes are wide in shock, Levi keeps a straight face but his steel gaze softens in awe, then it hardens again. Shadis' mouth is open in shock, his hazel eyes wide is amazement. "Sir, if you excuse me I must return to the Barracks to rest now, I have hand to hand combat training tomorrow morning at six o'clock sharp." I say my golden eyes shifting back to him.

"Dismissed." As he says this I walk off quickly, dropping my salute. I blink, and blush in embarrassment. I talked back to a Commanding officer. A perfect one at that. I rush down the hill and sprint to the Barracks, it was past curfew, but Shadis wasn't there to ring the bell, so technically I'm not late yet. I quietly try to open the door, but it creeks as I open it, I slip into the dark room and walk to my bed at the far side of the room, I sit down and take my boots off. After that I lay down facing the bunk on top of me. I grab my locket and clench it in my hand.

"Mom, Pearl, I miss you both. I wonder if you can hear me, so high in the stars. I hope you were watching over me today, I'm sorry for snapping at Commander Shadis. I was just defending myself. Pearl I saw some things for you. The grass is as green as it can get, it wasn't stained with blood. The sky was a beautiful blue. I really wish you could have seen it all, the grass, the sky, the trees, the dirt. I have to go to sleep now, I will talk to you both tomorrow night I promise." I whisper before turning to the wall, and close my eyes. Sleep overcomes me quickly.

I sit up quickly, at the end of the bed lay a tan jacket with a patch sewn into the back, I pick it up and unfold the tidy folding which makes me happy someone knows how to do it correctly. I inspect the neat hand sewn twin bladed badge, on the shoulders and on the back. One I deem it acceptable to wear I fold it again and look at the white shirt that was underneath. It wasn't a clean color white, but it was acceptable, I find a white bra and underwear too, and huff in annoyance, if they were going to give me something white they could at least make sure the article of clothing is actually white, I find pants of white as well, and sigh, still not white. I fold them back up neatly I find socks and a brush under the pants and growl. I look off the edge of the bed and find new knee high black boots.

My comrades start to wake up, Mikasa looks at me then the end of her bed, I hear collective groans and protests as the door fly's open. "Attention! You maggots are to hit the showers get dressed and report to the training site in ten minutes!" Shadis yells, I sigh, get up slip my new boots on and grab the clothes, I slip out of the Barracks and walk to the showers. (We all know they shower) When I get there I set my uniform down outside of my stall. My hands black with dried blood, and my knuckles still red. I unhook my necklace and set it with the clothes.

"Ugh, I'm just going to let the water get warm." Sasha's voice echos, I strip down as girls flood in.

"Cover yourself! Have you no shame?!" Ymir yells, I shoot her a glare.

"You are of the same gender, I suggest you toughen up hon, we all have to do it every other day, so get used to it." I snap, she looks taken aback as I step into the open stall I turn on the water not waiting for it to heat, I reach for the soap next to me that I just now noticed. I open it and open it squirting it into my hand once before closing it and setting it down I wash and rinse my hair wincing a little as soap cleans my raw knuckles, then I get out.

I kneel down and grab my clothes my ankles and chins throbbing from kicking the tree, then I stand up and walk over to a bench chained to the wall I sit down on the wood and set my clothes next to me. I pull out the underwear and slip them on, I do the same with the bra, then I grab the shirt. I freeze as I see purple and black on my legs, then I remember that I kicked the hell out of a tree. I shrug it off and put on the shirt, wincing as the cotton drags on my knuckles. Mikasa sits next to me as I stand and pull on the pants. I sit back down pulling on the socks and boots, then I swiftly put on my necklace. I fold my old clothes, which are caked with dirt and blood. She slings a red scarf around her neck and I pull on the jacket I quickly brush my hair. I stand up and walk out silently, this ought to be interesting. "Three minutes!" I yell back, after that I sprint to the training site, collective squeals filling the hall.
