And I want to say my opinion on it:
It might be nice to do something like this, because still it's more reads on stories and it might become more popular... but it's also unfair. Having a lot of reads is great feeling (but it also depends how much reads are a lot of for you, like for me 100 reads is already big amount), but if I added myself reads, I'd feel guilty. Because I know this is my job and as well nobody can read my stories. And that thought is depressing in my opinion.
I understand if you don't agree with my opinion. I just had to get it out of my chest
