Councillor POV
The men sat apart from one another, the small coffee table standing in between them. The man with the light brown hair had been crying for the past two hours - long past the scheduled one hour appointment.
The man with the pitch black hair, and dark red jumper listened intently hunched over leaning his head against his closed fist, attempting to decipher what the man's burbles translated into, His councillor jotted notes into a small note pad, and made a mental note to write them all in a file later on - but Dominic had already stayed long after his appointment had supposed to be scheduled: how could he leave him, or tell him to stop speaking? This was the first time he'd spoken in three weeks.
After a while, the man with the dark hair
looked over to the heavy rain, which was now splattering against his windows, and realised it was getting late and should wrap up the session. The small coffee table standing in between them covered in notes, a glass bowl of sweets and a large box of tissues. The man with the light brown hair clutched a few of the said tissues in one hand, while the other patted the small, scruffy dog, who was lying in his lap.
Through blurry eyes, he looked around the room nervously, as he attempted to tell both the small dog, and his councillor everything that had happened all those many years ago.
"Dominic, I'm sorry... But I think we should take a breather. Thank you so much for coming to this session, and telling me and Scruff everything. I hope you have a nice day"
"I will try" Dominic replys bleakly. He gets home and layes in bed numbly as he strokes scruffys head whiles as he reaches under his pillow for the pills he quickly pops open
"Just one more time" he says to scruffy whiles he vigorously shoves all of them into his mouth. He slowly closes his eyes...
Dominic woke up, not with the usual jump and back covered in sweat. His breathing was calm, Scruff was sat at the end of the bed, rather than in his dog bed. He made his way to the kitchen, no white noise filling his ears, no trembling steps.
For the first time he made toast with his coffee, and didn't need to slow his breathing, he didn't feel tired. He decided that he wanted to take Scruff for a walk.
"Scruffy! C'mere boy!"
The small, energetic dog bounded into the room, looking confused.
"Walkies for you!"
He blinked, didn't his owner usually say that in a shy, upset tone? Well, either way, it seemed like a good sign, so he wagged his tail, and licked his owners hands and they went to put the lead on his collar. He decided to go to the train station
"We going to visit Daisy, remember her" flash backs run through his head.
"I can't do this boy, I just can't I am so sorry" Dominic sees the train in the distance and ties scruffy to pole.He lowered himself onto the tracks slowly, ignoring Scruff's whines and barks. People screamed louder than him as the tracks made his bones crack, and his blood gush down the line. Scruff whimpered as the councillor spotted him, as the councillor was now crying over what he could have done to help, in any sort of way.
Scruff blinked slowly as he shook. The councillor scooped him up carefully as the police and the ambulance service arrived. How could he explain this?
