Leah's POV

"Hun, are you almost ready?" my mother called.
I zipped up the last of my belongings, looking around me. My once ocean blue room was dull and lifeless, almost as if it were never there. The nails that hung my pictures, were packed away, along with the rest of my memories. My room was empty, washed away.
I took one last glance, soaking in the laughs and smiles this room held. The tears I cried, the stains I made, my first kiss, all happened in this house, in this room, now it's all gone.
"Yeah. I'm coming." I replied.
I shuffled down the stairs, tears building up as I took each step.
"Leah, North Carolina won't be so bad. You'll make new friends, find a new boyfriend. it will be fun." my mother beamed.
"You just don't get it, do you? I've lived her since I was born. I have spent 16 years here. Now you just want to pack up and leave? I'm a sophomore in high school, which will make it hard for me to make new friends. My boyfriend just dumped me on our two year anniversary. My best friend won't even tell me goodbye. No mom, it won't be okay!" I snapped.
"Just get in the car Leah." she hissed.
I knew I had made her mad, so this drive will only get worse.
"Where's Cooper and Alex? I questioned.
My mother then look at me with a sad look on her face.
"The thing is Leah, Copper is a senior so he decided to stay and graduate., along with your sister."
"Alex is in 7th grade, you can't expect her to stay here."
"Well...this is where you come in." my mother stated.
"What are you talking about?"
"I looked up Lacrosse tryouts at your new school, and they are next week. I trust you to make it to North Carolina in the next 4 days." she said, handing me the keys.
"What are you doing? You're coming with me." I replied.
"I can't leave for another 4 months." my mother explained.
"Four months, why are we leaving now?" I asked.
"You need a scholarship Leah, I can't afford to send you to college. Lacrosse and Volleyball are your only hope."
Wait a second...
I can leave. My mother won't come with me. I'll be all by myself for 4 months.
My mother actually trust me?
I gladly took the keys from her hands, and gave her one last hug.
I hopped into my car, taking all my belongings with me, and planning on not coming back to this god awful place.
"Please be safe." my mother whispered.
"Always am. Always will." I smiled.
I slowly backed out of the driveway, watching my mother wave goodbye.
"North Carolina....here I come." I smirked.

I thought this drive to North Carolina would be more interesting, but no it's not.
I thought that I could start a new life, make better choices, but then it all hit me.
