2. It's a Date

Just to help set the stage, this all takes place shortly after The Avengers. Yes, in the movies there's Pepper. But I'll get to her later on. Anywoo. Enjoy. 😘 ~Sunshine Child

~~Your POV~~

I open my eyes to see a figure hovering above me "AHHHH!" I screamed and jumped. I ended up hitting her head. "Oh my God... Really (Bff/N). What are you doing." I say while rubbing my head. "It's 8 in the morning..."

"Well, I woke up this morning at 6 due to a dream. But I realized we never called THE Tony Stark last night." (Bff/N) is flailing her arms around like I just killed her dreams.

"Oh my Lord can you just say Tony. He's a human being just like us."

"Yeah...a human being that has a life saving thing in his chest! We don't go around saving people either... " (Bff/N) looks unimpressed with me. She gets off the bed grabbing and pulling on my hand." Come oooooonnnnn."

"Fine... Let me grab his business card." (Bff/N) let's go of my hand so I can get it. I hop off the bed and walk over to my pants from last night. I pull out the card and belly flop on the bed. I hesitate to call the number.

"Why are you hesitating? Just call!" (Bff/N) starts dialing his number but I swat her hand away and turn my phone off. I throw my phone down on the bed and bury my head in my hands.

"I'm nervous... It's been 10 years since I've seen him! We're 32 now. I'm scared... I'm scared we won't be able to pick up where we left off. I'm scared I'll ruin everything. I'm scared I've changed too much. I'm sca-" Before I can finish my sentence (Bff/N) cuts me off.

"Please stop worrying. You'll be fine. There's only one way to find out for sure though." (Bff/N) picks up the phone and dangles it in front of my face.

"Alright. Let's bite the bullet." I grab the phone and dial the number. The phone rings 4 times before he picks up.

"Hello? Who is this?" Tony answers in a monotone voice.

"It's the nerdiest girl you know."

"Oh hey (Y/N). So when do you wanna hang out?"

"I don't know. You're probably super busy so give me options."

"Hmmm. Let me think. How about this Saturday. I should be able to get my work done in 3 days."

"Ok. Let me check me calendar. Hold on. "

"Ok."

I get up with my phone and walk over to my calendar across the room. Obviously it's a (fav/show/movie) calendar. "Hmm. Looks like I'm free. So what time?"

"I was thinking maybe we can grab dinner at 7:30. There's this really good Mexican restaurant down the road from where I live."

"Ooooo I love Mexican! That sounds good. What should I wear? Something casual but nice?"

"Yeah, that should be fine. So it's a date?"

I fluster when he asks. "A d-date?"

"Well, a friend date of course." He chuckles. Oh how I missed that chuckle of his. It's deep yet airy.

"Y-yeah. Of course. So I'll see you at 7:30. Bye." I push my loose hair behind my ear.

"Cya (Y/N)."

I hang up and lay the phone down on my desk. I write on my calendar "Dinner Date w/ Tony @ 7:30." As I write it I blush. I know it's not a date date, but I wish it was.
