"If you had one day left to live, what would you do?" Niall asks his umpteenth question of the night. We were way past twenty but it was okay. The questions were interesting and entertaining. I learned a lot about Niall tonight.

"I would," I start out, trying to conjure up a good enough answer. My first thought instantly goes to spending it with Eli, making sure he's somewhere safe before I die, I'd obviously give him everything I've got.

"I would spend it with Eli." I can't help but that being the only thing that pops up in my head. The only way I would die would be because my dad went overboard on me. It's a scary thought to think of but it isn't far from the truth.

"But say he wasn't in the picture, hypothetically, what would you do with your last 24 hours?" Niall asks, his head leaning on his palm, facing me. Our knees have been touching for the past hour and I notice the way Niall wiggles it a little when I take too long to answer.

I shrug. "I don't know, spend it how I would any day? I'm not very adventurous." I tell him and he scoffs, shaking his head in disbelief.

"I'm sure you'd do something cool if you knew you were dying the next day." He says and I shrug again. Every question Niall asked tonight he was extremely passionate about for no apparent reason.

"Maybe." I say and take a sip of the beer Niall had brought me 7 questions ago.

"Okay, next question, when you were a kid what did you think you would be?" I ask him, generally curious. I picture child Niall wanting to be a firefighter or something. He seemed like the type.

"Uh, when I was younger I thought I was going to be a superhero, no joke." Niall says completely serious and I stifle a laugh.

"Seriously? Not a doctor or a police officer?" I ask him and he shakes his head, his pale cheeks slightly pink.

"Nope, I was so sure I'd be the next superman... instead I'm a mechanic." He says and then laughs at himself. I join him.

"Your an everyday hero." I tell him and he raises a brow at me.

"Saving one broken a/c at a time." I tell him and he laughs, I do too. I notice him nod his head afterwards.

"You have a point." He says and takes a sip of his beer. I nod knowingly.

"I know." I remark just because and he smiles at me, his eyes doing the 'lock on target' thing again. That's what I call it anyways, his little stare he gets into when something suddenly becomes really interesting on my face and he just freezes for a few seconds. It's not as weird as I describe it but it's something he constantly does and I have yet to point it out.

"Next question." I tell him and he nods, shaking his head slightly to readjust back to conversation.

"Um, let me see," He says, his fingers on his chin as he thinks of another question.

"Oh okay, I got a good one, what was the last thing that made you cry?" He asks, his eyes big and intrigued. He was proud of this question. I, however, was not.

I've cried too many times in my lifetime.

"Oh boy, I don't know," I respond, trying to stall my thinking time. Do I say an honest answer or tell another lie?

"Um, Eli, he actually made me cry recently." I spill, clearing my throat. I am not going to cry thinking about it.
