You say that you're there for me
But are you really?

You've never once
Closed your mouth
and opened your ears

Instead you go on and on
About how I'm the mistaken
One here

I can hardly recall
What is was like
When we first met

The time of which
You spoke words of truth
And listened to mine

Were we actually happy
Back then?
I cannot remember

All I know
Is that you have left me
And I now feel lost, like I'm missing something

So I ask this of you
Will you open your eyes
And see how much this all hurts?

Will you listen to me
For once and for all
Instead of just ignoring me always?

Will you be truthful
Like you once were
Instead of hiding the truth and spouting lies?

And if so,
If you promise
Then maybe I'll actually have hope
For an 'us' in the future

This is dedicated to my step mom who I love with all my heart and who has made a difference in my life she requested that  I made a poem about lack of trust, hurt feelings, etc. It's aimed at my dad because he is being immature and (excuse the language) an asshole to my step mom
