The airport was jam packed with people. More people than he'd ever seen for the most of his young life, "What the hell? Is everyone going to the same place?" He mumbled close to her ear so she could hear through all the chattering and flight calls.
"It's always like this. Just hold my hand.."
Tightly, he held her small hand in his and was led around he large place and eventually onto the correct plane. Flight attendants flirted with him shamelessly, one even going as far as touching his bicep.
"Can I get you anything, sweetie?"
Sakura would have been utterly jealous but Gaara's reaction was priceless. "I don't guess so."
"Is this your wife?"
"Yes, hello. I'm Sakura Subaku." The flight attendant gave her a fake smile before continuing down the aisle. With an arched eyebrow Gaara questioned her, "wife?"
"Hush. It's the only way this would work, I had a fake ID made and everything."
The flight was rather lengthy and Gaara had trouble relaxing the entire way. Sakura fell asleep and rested her head on his shoulder, not that he minded but he noticed that the flight attendant gave her multiple raunchy looks.
She woke right as they landed, still holding Gaara's hand tightly. "You ready Gaara?"
"Lead the way."
After a short drive, they arrived at a large Victorian style home on the very very green cliffs of Ireland. Gaara felt like he was dreaming throughout the entire experience. Had she really just kidnapped him and taken him to a totally different country? Better yet, how did she do it without his identification, birth certificate, and ect. ?
There was a stone path leading up the side of the cliff and to the house. It was really a beautiful sight and Gaara couldn't get enough of the fresh air rustling his hair about. "You never told me we were skipping countries."
"Well, I have some family that lives over in the Dublin area. Plus, I assumed this would be just right for you. It's really quiet and set back in time."
Sakura smiled lightly. "I'm so glad we actually pulled this off, don't you feel different? better?"
"Different, yes. I don't know what better is supposed to feel like though."
"Give it time."
They made their way into the house and Gaara noticed almost immediately just how excluded the area was. You could hear a pin drop throughout the entire house. "How did you get a place like this?"
"I told you, I have family here.. I made a few calls."
"I see.." He began exploring the house and all of it's bedrooms and hidden doors but found nothing of interest. By the time night fell he was well ready for bed and was there before Sakura even thought of it.
The next morning Sakura made breakfast and phone calls before Gaara crawled out of bed. She knew it wouldn't be long until he came stumbling down the stairs at the smell of food but she was in somewhat of a hurry and couldn't afford to wait on him hand and foot. She set the table for him and started to leave a note explaining her whereabouts for the next 3 hours when he waltzed in as if on cue.
"Oh good you're up! Listen I have a job interview today and I'll be gone for at least 3 hours. I made breakfast and there are a few snacks in the fridge if you are still hungry."
"Oh.. okay. Well what am I supposed to do all day?"
"Watch tv or something. Just stay in the house."
He watched her gather her things and grab her keys. She smiled at him sweetly and scurried out the door and down to her car. Gaara stood in the doorway and watched her walk down the stone path, get in her car, and drive off. Carefully, he poked his head out on the porch and examined it before shutting the door and locking it.
"Watch tv or something..." He mumbled to himself mockingly. "Just stay in the house.." A chuckle erupted from his chest and he lazily walked into the kitchen and with one swift jerk of his wrist he knocked everything off the table and onto the floor. The glass plate and cup shattered and bounced about the room leaving pieces of food and whatever the hell she poured in his cup on the floor. "Stupid woman." Then he flipped the table against the wall and slung the chairs into the hallway. "Tell me what the hell I can and can't do.."
Gaara took a deep breath and went to the living room only to fall asleep on the couch.
When Sakura arrived home Gaara was still asleep on the couch and the kitchen was a complete wreck. "What the hell happened in here?! Gaara!" She dropped the bags of groceries on the floor beside the fridge and made her way into the living room where she could hear the snoring. She couldn't believe he would lose it so easily and destroy good furniture, now she had to get a new table and chairs! But all the things she wanted to say to him were put on hold for a short while because she couldn't force them by her tongue. Instead, she stood at the end of the couch completely frozen in fear at what had taken refuge on her couch. It was without a doubt Gaara but he looked sick, and not your normal common cold sick.
His skin was a shade of blue, with dark veins beneath running closely, his eyes were sunk in and dark, his fingernails were dark blue, and his hair was an unusual shade of orange-red. She took a step back from him. Was he dead? Suddenly she didn't feel so safe in the house anymore even though there was no sign of an intruder other than the kitchen. Cautiously, she blinked and rubbed her eyes lightly. Once she re-opened them she found it had been some type of hallucination. Gaara was asleep on the couch looking like himself and when she stepped back into the kitchen the once broken table and chairs were back in place, along with the untouched food.
She ran a hand through her hair and inhaled deeply. There was no doubt that she knew what she had seen upon entering the home, so how could it just fix itself? It can't. There is no way. Sakura shook the thoughts from her mind and shrugged it off blaming it on exhaustion. "I just need some rest.." After she kicked her shoes off and sat her keys down she headed up to the bedroom.
